A Café Office at the Foot of Kilimanjaro

Today, I spent the entire afternoon in a small café at the foot of Kilimanjaro and turned it into my temporary office.

My daypack rested on the table next to my laptop as I finished the blog post I had started yesterday. There was no air conditioning — just open windows, open doors, and a steady flow of warm air moving through the room. The climate felt lighter, more natural, and somehow made the writing come easier.

The sounds of the street mixed with quiet conversations and the clinking of cups. Time slowed down in that simple way it sometimes does when you’re focused, comfortable, and exactly where you need to be.

When it was time to leave, I found out the card machine wasn’t working. I searched through my bag and discovered I had just enough cash — enough to pay for the café and to pick up some street food for dinner on the walk back to the hostel.

The post is online now.

Let’s see if it finds its way to someone who needs it.
