My hive journey is one that is filled with a lot of ups and a few downs. Joining hive is one of the good decisions I made in 2021, though my being active didn't start from that year.

I got to know hive when I was still a member of the legacy chain. There were many things that made me left the legacy chain, one of which is the indirect centralization.

When I joined hive, everything was very complex. Hive is not like the legacy chain. It's quite complex. Without proper guidance, a user will not be able to know the many things hive has to offer. I was once that kind of user that had little to no guidance. I didn't know the importance of engagement, and I didn't know that there is more to hive than the posting and curating.

When I joined in 2021, I had to leave hive due to lack of knowledge on how the platform works. Though I had a few experience with web 3 platforms, I found it difficult to navigate through hive. After about 6 months, I came back with a determination to learn everything there is to learn about hive.

I began to do trials and error. I clicked on everything clickable. I pressed each buttons in diverse frontends to know what they do. I spent hours navigating and research hive and it's many Dapps. I got to know a lot, like hive tasks, hive keychain, tribaldex and hive engine, HBD stats, e.t.c..

With time, I began to know about different frontends. I started with hive.blog, however, I left hive.blog because I wasn't really feeling the frontend. Currently, I have three major frontends I use, peakd for navigation, ecency for hive/HBD swap, and inleo for publishing a post. Currently, I don't use ecency that much again as I now use hivehub for my swaps. I think it's easier and faster (personal thoughts).

My hive journey became easier when I joined Newbies initiative hosted by Starstrings in Hive Learners community. It was a very good initiative and it helped me understand hive to a very good extent. It gave me pointers on where to make my hive research.

After understanding a lot of things on hive, being a mod for a community, being a curator and making some good friends, I decided to own a community. Last year January, I brought together a team and I founded a community, Scifi Multiverse. It's an all inclusive community for all types of science and technology posts, not excluding science fiction and the likes.

From there, I noticed that there is no active community for hive students, so, I decided to create another community, hive students connect. Just like the name imply, it's a community for students in hive, to post, engage and connect. My expectations with this community is quite something, and I'm currently working towards it.

I don't really have tips for newbies, however, one thing I would tell newbies is that, don't wait for someone to bring hive information to your table. Go in search of these informations, learn, grow and develop your hive knowledge. Personally, I think if someone makes research for themselves, they will understand the given topic more and it will remain in the memory.

Follow these OG hivers and read their blogs. From there, you'll see words that will spark your curiosity and lead you to making research and asking questions. Trust me, hive OGs are very kind to answer your questions.

    Thank you for reading.

You had to go hard and find your way on the blockchain. Good to see you came back stronger. You've made indeed wonderful progress with these communities. Keep up the good work sir. And nice little advice to the newbies.

Nice one. Making research is good, but on the other, in every phase having someone to give you tips on how to go about the research makes life a bit easier
