I must have had a lot of first time earning, as I began writing alot of these childhood memories flood my mind, trying to find which one is more appropriate, well for me I started earning money pretty early, I've always had this mindset of doing something , probably because I never really had someone who gives me all I wanted except on Christmas.
so as I rack through my brain, I came across this one time in the village, I was doing some little job of fetching water from the stream with my 5litre jerricane to this our neighbor who will give me 5 naira coin, I keep doing this till I left the village, then time passed I began doing some petty stuff and got paid a wage.
but for the first time after secondary school in my country I applied for a job while I hope to work for a few years to safe up money and apply for a university degree.
sometime in 2017 I went out prepared my Cv and wrote my Application letter and submitted after like four days I was called up for an interview, I was given the position of a lobby boy i was excited and began working.
then the day. came i was handed my first official pay check, I felt like okay? so I worked for this and that changed my perspective about money and how it is earned, that you need to work to earn it, you know i never really understood this perspective cause most of them time either some gift me money or some change i get from buying something at home.
some days at work was hectic, it was hard, some days I felt like not getting out of bed, I tried ways of how I can cope with the job, I really felt like given up but then when I received my pay check that very day, there was a smiled in my face that made me feel like I earned this, I worked for it, at that moment I forgot all about the difficulties and hard days and the joy of having your own money was a different kind of feeling from money that you were given, it made me see and value money differently...
