Hello, everyone! Today I will be continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me keep track of the songs I have used so I dont end up repeating them. The last song I talked about in my last post is: Funky Worm from the band Ohio Players.
Magia Veneno: Catapecu Machu
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Magia Veneno from the iconic argentine band Catapecu Machu.
Since I was a kid, I've been heavily influenced by Argentine rock, and that's mostly thanks to my mom. At home, it was normal to hear the radio playing songs by Charly Garcia, Cerati, Spinetta, Pappo, and other artists. Not to mention well-known bands like Los Abuelos de la Nada, Virus, Seru Giran, and Sui Generis.
Over time, I listened to more and more, and little by little I ended up doing the same with Spotify, always with the radio playing in the background at home. For years, I knew a song by the band called A Veces Vuelvo, but I had no idea which band it was by. I listened to it every now and then and I really liked it.
Things changed when, some time ago, I listened again to Los Autenticos Decadentes, a band I talk about a lot because, for me, they are one of the most important bands in the country. Among videos, concerts, and covers, I came across a video where the band sang Un Osito de Peluche De Taiwan with another artist, and that artist was Fernando Ruiz Diaz from Catapecu Machu.
The name of the band sounded familiar at the time, but I didn't know any of their songs, and I ended up finding the one I already knew called A veces Vuelvo and the one I ended up selecting for my post today: Magia Veneno. Beyond that, I didn't find many songs that I really liked.
Catupecu Machu is an Argentine hard rock band formed in Buenos Aires in 1994 by brothers Fernando Ruiz Diaz and Gabriel Ruiz Diaz. In their early years, they began playing in different bars and clubs, and then a few years later, in 1997, they released their first studio album, titled Dale! It featured several well-known songs, such as Dale!, Le Di Sol, and Calavera Deforme, which helped the band gain its first fans.
True success came ten years after the group was founded, thanks to the hit album El Numero Imperfecto. It featured three of the group's most famous songs: A Veces Vuelvo, Plan B: Anhelo de Satisfacción, and my choice today: Magia Veneno.
