Hello, everyone! Today I will be continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me keep track of the songs I have used so I dont end up repeating them. The last song I talked about in my last post is: Brand Nubian from the band Brand Nubian.
La Última Lagrima: Memphis La Blusera
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is La Última Lagrima from the iconic band Memphis La Blusera.
Since I was a kid, I was strongly influenced by Argentine rock music, and that was mostly thanks to my mother. At home, it was normal to hear the radio playing songs by Charly Garcia, Cerati, Spinetta, Pappo, and other artists. Not to mention well-known groups such as Los Abuelos de la Nada, Virus, Seru Giran, and Sui Generis. My mother also often played music from her PC, and I ended up listening to some of the hits from her childhood, which were not only in Spanish but also quite a bit of music in English.
Years later, when I had Spotify, it became easier for me to go back to those bands and also find others that I wasn't so familiar with, discovering groups like Attaque 77, Intoxicados, Los Piojos, and a few others that I can't remember now.
In that search for songs, I ended up finding a band from a rock genre that I'm quite passionate about: blues. This band is Memphis La Blusera, one of the biggest names in this genre, at least in my country, along with the legendary artist Pappo Napolitano. This group doesn't have a huge variety of songs, but I can highlight the ones I liked the most: La Flor Mas Bella, La Bifurcada, Montón de Nada, and their most famous song, which is my choice today: La Última Lagrima.
Memphis La Blusera is a well-known Argentine blues rock band. It consists of vocalist Adrian Otero, bassist Daniel Beiserman, saxophonist Emilio Villanueva, and other artists who have come and gone over the course of the group's history.
In their early years, they released their first studio album, Alma bajo la lluvia, which gave them significant momentum and featured well-known songs such as Pizza y Fainá, Blues de las 6 y 30, and finally Moscato. Despite their considerable success, they would not achieve their greatest feat until 1998, when they released what would become their most successful album: Hoy es Hoy. It featured such hits as La Flor Mas Bella, La Última Lagrima, Monton de Nada, and La Bifurcada.
