    Roadside views...

...as promised, come and see what we saw as we travelled along to a rural town. [000102].jpg

Would you also stop to take a shot of this view above?

The roads were in an immaculate condition, and there was enough space to pull over whenever we spotted something. I have to say that we were not impressed by the speeds of some of the cars that blitzed past us, as whenever we go out, we simply drive far below the speed restriction signs. Slow drives are always a part of our excursions, as there is so much to see. Especially when we travel on a road for the first time.

I have to say that the areas consisting mainly of big farms were all over their harvesting period, and one can only imagine the tapestry of colors before the harvests, but even so, the lands still had some colors left, depending on what was grown on them. We know that many of the lands had bright yellow canola plants, contrasted by the green leaves of other products. I have a collection here of some wildlife for you to enjoy.

Look at the pair of endangered Blue Crane wild birds. 081.JPG

Of course, I was going to zoom them, and at the back were two Egyptian Geese. 082.JPG

Beautiful birds, and so sad that their numbers are so drastically decreasing, due to the lack of habitats. 083.JPG

And here was something else. We think it is a Cape Grysbok (Cape Grey Buck) and they are small animals. 107.JPG

It was happily running along. 111.JPG

I think those two were the parents. 110.JPG

Then we had a juvenile Jackal Buzzard sitting at the top of a tree. 099.JPG

Preparing to fly, and somehow, I missed the takeoff on my camera as the battery shutdown. By the time I replaced the battery it was long gone.

Finally, I posted a picture of the African Eagle sitting on the poles in this dam, but this is a different picture as there were no birds flying in the posted pictures. 069.JPG

We deliberately left our home early in order to get as many views as possible. Our booking at a BnB would only be available at 2 pm in the afternoon and so we had the entire morning to move around and to see what the area looks like. Let me tell you that we really enjoyed the outing, even as it only lasted for two days. And as soon as we got back home, we had to rush into the swing of things again.

But in the back of our minds, we longed to live somewhere out there, far away from noise, traffic, and all the busyness. Nature keeps calling, and we know that we only live once. We continue to dream of someday when it will become a reality, but such a dream will only remain as a fallacy, unless it is clothed in action. The time has come in my life, that I don't care much for anything anymore as at my old age I have seen it all and much more. Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Thank you milady, and it's the best that we could do. Only an hour and a half drive away from us, and it was a different laid-back world. A sheer pleasure to drive on those roads. Hope all things are well with you ๐Ÿ™
