Luego de una larga espera, más de la que éste servidor habría anticipado, el pelotero venezolano Luis Arráez estampó su rúbrica en un contrato con los Gigantes de San Francisco. El acuerdo es de una duración muy corta para lo que imaginamos esperaba el jugador: 1 año. Y el monto nos parece muy bajo para un jugador de su estatus: US$ 12 millones. Ahora ¿Por qué tales resultados? Especularemos en ésta entrada las razones por las cuales pudo haberse dado que el acuerdo de marras, estuviera por debajo del mercado. Descartaremos la razón principal ya mencionada en otros escritos: su bate poco explosivo (poquísimos batazos de poder salen de su barquillo,). Sí, el hombre batea y se embasa demasiado, pero los equipos están pagando carreras traídas al home. No hay manera porque les deslumbre un hombre del tipo "Tony Gwynn".

After a long wait, longer than this writer would have anticipated, Venezuelan baseball player Luis Arráez signed a contract with the San Francisco Giants. The agreement is very short-term compared to what we imagine the player was hoping for: one year. And the amount seems very low for a player of his status: $12 million. So why these results?
