collage.jpeg Hello, Hive friends! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day filled with little surprises and joys. Today, I want to share something that truly brightened mine—a thoughtful pasalubong from a dear friend who just came back from her hometown in Bacolod.

plastic bongbongs.jpeg Even though she couldn’t personally visit me here in Bulacan because of her work commitments in Manila, she still found a way to send her love and hometown flavors through Lalamove. And what a treat it was!

pasalubong.jpeg Inside the package were three Bacolod specialties that instantly brought warmth and nostalgia:

• Piaya – That thin, sweet, flaky delicacy filled with muscovado sugar. A bite of this instantly reminded me why Bacolod is known as the "Sugar Capital of the Philippines."

piaya.jpeg • Mamon Tostado – Crunchy, lightly sweet, and perfect with coffee or tea. It’s one of those snacks that you can’t stop munching on once you start.

• Ginamos (Ilonggo Bagoong) – A savory fermented fish paste that’s a staple in many Ilonggo households. It’s strong, flavorful, and pairs perfectly with rice or green mangoes.

Receiving these pasalubong items wasn’t just about food. It was about friendship, thoughtfulness, and the joy of sharing culture and tradition. Even though my friend couldn’t be here physically, her gesture made me feel connected to her and to the rich culinary heritage of Bacolod.

Thank you, Hive friends, for taking the time to read my little story today. Pasalubong may be simple, but it carries so much meaning—love, care, and a piece of home. I’m grateful for friends who go the extra mile (literally!) to make us feel special. 💖
