Como les conté en un post anterior, nos habíamos quedado sin electricidad en nuestro local y eso era algo que nos tenía realmente preocupados, sobre todo luego de conversar con unos vecinos que nos comentaban cosas para nada alentadoras.
Es por eso que decidí planificarme para ir a primera hora del día siguiente a las oficinas de la empresa que presta el servicio, así podría tener un mejor panorama de la situación.

As I mentioned in a previous post, we had lost power at our business, and that was something that really worried us, especially after talking to some neighbors who told us some very discouraging things.
That's why I decided to plan to go to the offices of the company that provides the service first thing the next morning, so I could get a better understanding of the situation.
No tenía ni idea de que me iba a encontrar pero me enfoqué en canalizar mis ideas y pensar en positivo para que todo resultara de la mejor manera.
No tenía nada de ganas de salir por la mañana pero tenía que resolver ese asunto lo antes posible, así que quedarme durmiendo no era una opción.
I had no idea what I was going to find, but I focused on channeling my thoughts and thinking positively so that everything would turn out for the best.
I really didn't feel like going out in the morning, but I had to resolve this matter as soon as possible, so sleeping in wasn't an option.
Llegué a las oficinas y habían pocas personas, me tocó esperar apenas unos pocos minutos hasta que fue mi turno y pude consultar.
Me atendió una cajera bastante odiosa a mi parecer, pero luego de hacer sus investigaciones me pudo dar respuesta de cuáles eran los pasos a seguir. Debía llevar una serie de recaudos para ponernos en regla.
Todo lo que había hablado con los vecinos quedó a un lado y teníamos oportunidad de empezar desde cero, ya por este lado íbamos por buen camino.
I arrived at the offices and there were only a few people. I only had to wait a few minutes before it was my turn to ask a question.
I was helped by a rather unpleasant cashier, in my opinion, but after doing some research, she was able to tell me what the next steps were. I needed to bring a series of documents to get us in compliance.
Everything I had discussed with the neighbors was now irrelevant, and we had the opportunity to start from scratch. At least we were on the right track.
En el camino a mi próximo destino para resolver este asunto aproveché de pasar consultando unas cositas por la catedral de mi ciudad y también por una fundación donde hablé cositas interesantes para desarrollar próximamente. Eso se los estaré contando más adelante.
On my way to my next destination to resolve this matter, I took the opportunity to stop by the cathedral in my city and also visit a foundation where I discussed some interesting things that I plan to develop soon. I'll tell you more about that later.
Luego estuve esperando por el papeleo pero luego de dos horas de una larga y tediosa espera me dijeron que no me podrían atender. No fue nada alentadora la situación pero al menos ya habíamos avanzado en el asunto y además logramos hacer otras cosas productivas en el día.
Then I waited for the paperwork, but after a long and tedious two-hour wait, they told me they couldn't help me. It wasn't a very encouraging situation, but at least we had made some progress, and we also managed to get some other productive things done that day.
Al día siguiente me desperté igual de temprano, con mucho sueño pero con fe de que todo se solventaría el mismo día.
El clima estaba nublado lo que hizo mucho más llevadero el trayecto.
The next day I woke up just as early, very sleepy but confident that everything would be resolved that same day.
The weather was cloudy, which made the journey much more bearable.
Esta vez me fui preparada para la espera pues el día anterior había llegado a casa con dolor de cabeza de tanto ver de una lado a otro sin tener nada para hacer.
Por fin me atendieron pero todavía faltaba esperar otras dos horas más para que pudieran darme todos los papeles necesarios. Mi estómago crujía y yo no te tenia dinero suficiente para comprar una gran comida, así que resolví con unos pastelitos que estaban bien chéveres y que me ayudaron muchísimo en la espera.
This time I went prepared for the wait, since the day before I'd come home with a headache from wandering around aimlessly with nothing to do.
Finally, they saw me, but I still had to wait another two hours before they could give me all the necessary paperwork. My stomach was growling, and I didn't have enough money to buy a proper meal, so I settled for some delicious pastries that helped me a lot while I waited.
Una vez me dieron los papeles salí a las carreras a sacar unas copias y luego me fui hasta CORPOELEC, que es la oficina del servicio eléctrico.
Ahí me atendieron las mismas personas pero al ver que cumplí con todo lo que me pidieron el día anterior y que además estaba súper agotada, me atendieron mucho mejor.
Hicimos el contrato me explicaron todo y luego hicieron la notificación para que pudieran reconectar el servicio 🙌🏻 habíamos logrado resolver todo con éxito y eso me tenía súper feliz 💜🥹.
Once they gave me the paperwork, I rushed out to make some copies and then went to CORPOELEC, the electric company's office.
The same people helped me there, but when they saw that I had done everything they had asked for the day before and that I was completely exhausted, they treated me much better.
We drew up the contract, they explained everything, and then they sent the notification so they could reconnect the service 🙌🏻 We had managed to resolve everything successfully, and that made me so happy 💜🥹.
De ahí me fui con mucha más calma hasta el local, pues quería esperar que aparecieran los señores a reconectar por cualquier novedad que pudiera ocurrir.
En eso apareció mi papá que vino a visitarme y al cual solo había visto una vez desde que llegó al país desde el mes de octubre.
Estuvimos conversando varias cositas y cuando por fin llevaron los del servicio eléctrico me emocioné mucho. Menos mal que me quedé para verificar esto porque cuando ellos pensaban que habían reconectado no era así y seguíamos sin electricidad en el local. Por lo que verificaron a tiempo y por fin se hizo la luz 🙌🏻
Fueron 3 largos días de correr de aquí para allá, pero valió la pena tanto trajín. Cerramos el mes poniéndonos al día con este tema y además aseguramos nuestras clases para este fin de semana, cosa que era sumamente importante porque recibiríamos a varios alumnos nuevos.

From there, I went back to the shop much more calmly, as I wanted to wait for the electricians to arrive and reconnect the power, just in case.
That's when my dad showed up. He'd come to visit, and I'd only seen him once since he arrived in the country in October.
We chatted about a few things, and when the electricians finally arrived, I was so excited. Luckily, I stayed to check on them because when they thought they'd reconnected, they hadn't, and we still had no electricity in the shop. They checked in time, and finally, the lights came back on! 🙌🏻
It was three long days of running around, but it was totally worth it. We finished the month catching up on this issue, and we also secured our classes for this weekend, which was extremely important because we were going to have several new students.
