Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community! Today I'm joining you to share another day in the classroom. This time it's our Drawing Workshop classes during our "Red Week" 🍎. This week we focused on the color red, so the children had to work with it and play around with it, along with black and white. They also had to decide if they wanted to start working on the portraits we discussed for Carnival Day, where they'll participate as part of the drawing workshop group. Many of them started working on it today.
¡Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle! El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en el aula de clases. En esta ocasión se trata de nuestras clases del Taller de Dibujo en nuestra "Semana Roja" 🍎 para esta semana nos tocó ver el color rojo, por lo que los niños debían trabajar en función de eso y jugar con ello, el blanco y el negro. Aunque también debían decidir si deseaban empezar a trabajar con los retratos que se habían hablado para el día de carnaval dónde ellos deben participar cómo parte del grupo de taller de dibujo. Muchos de ellos comenzaron a trabajar hoy en ello.
So, for those who didn't want to continue with the Carnival painting because they prefer to do it at home with more care and more time, that's great! The thing is, I was quite sick today, and surprisingly, I haven't felt any better. My whole body feels pretty bad, with a sore throat, headache, and congestion... I guess these days the flu is much stronger and nothing seems to help. The downside is that I couldn't be fully present with the children as I usually am, because they needed me a lot and I could barely speak and guide them as usual. Several of my students noticed this and seemed a little worried (oh my, they're so sweet!). I was so overwhelmed that I even forgot to take several photos of them doing their work, but I wasn't paying much attention at the time. I hope to be able to photograph what I missed later.
Así que para quienes no quisieron avanzar en la pintura del carnaval pues prefieren hacerlo en casa con mucho más cuidado, con más tiempo para hacerlo, pues chévere. La cosa es que hoy estaba bastante enferma y sorprendentemente no me he sentido mejor pues realmente el cuerpo entero lo tengo bastante mal, con dolor de garganta, de cabeza y la congestión... Digo yo que las gripes de ahora son mucho más fuertes y no parecen aliviarse con nada. Lo malo es que casi no pude estar al 100% como me gusta con los chicos, pues ellos me necesitaban bastante y yo apenas y pude hablar y guiar cómo de costumbre. Varios de mis niños notaron eso y parecían un poco preocupados (a mundo, son tan tiernos). Estaba tan mal que incluso olvide registrar varios momentos fotograficos dónde ellos hacían su trabajo, pero no tenía mucha atención en ese momento para ello. Espero luego poder tomar fotografías a aquello que no pude antes.
As a teacher, I like to document all these moments so that parents can see what happens in class, since they rarely know what their children experience in the classroom. So that's what the photos are for, besides being a keepsake and a way to showcase my work as a teacher. Little by little. Today the children did the still life, but in red. The children already knew how to do the exercise, so I let them do it on their own, but I did stay focused on those who wanted help finishing the carnival portrait. Cómo profesora, a mí me gusta dejar registro de todos esos momentos y que los papás puedan ver lo que se hace en clase pues pocas veces se enteran de lo que ellos viven en el aula. Así que para eso las fotografías, además de que es un recuerdo y una forma de mostrar mi trabajo cómo docente. Poco a poco. Hoy los niños hicieron el bodegón, pero en rojo. Los niños ya sabían cómo hacer el ejercicio así que los dejé hacerlos por su cuenta, pero si me mantuve enfocada en quienes querían ayuda para terminar el retrato de carnaval.
