    Assembly Of Hearts And Bodies

    Love — a long-standing assembly of hearts
Ignited by the yearning of two frail hands,
Holding on with the warmth of golden autumn leaves,
Basking in the gentle ointment of care.

His arms — a sweet, loving embrace,
Like a home welcoming its keeper to dusk.
His chest, a cupboard of hidden treasures,
Calling softly for a dame to fill the quiet void.

Her hair — a wave of goodness,
Announcing her arrival before the daring sight of her pultrichude lips.
Her eyes, a whisper of needs,
longing for a night where desires meet their gods.

For a first meeting, they drink red wine,
Piercing the steak with forks tendered with otherworldly passion.
The carpets, adorned with ancient murals,
Usher them into a journey of intimacy,
Riding towards the truth of two hearts entwined in eternal cohabitation.

It's been ages since I last wrote a poem, so you're sure I had doubts about writing this one, especially under 40 minutes. But I'm glad I encouraged myself to publish this, seeing that I was spending the night awake with zero appetite for all the things I had planned to do. Anyway, it's currently 3:30 am here and I hope you find meaning in my poem.

This poem explores the themes of love, desires and the eventual intimacy that solidifies the connection between two lovers. It starts with the idea of love that develops from the kind of vulnerability that everyday people try to distance themselves from, and quickly progresses to the point of irresistible yearning.

It ends with the beginning of another journey where not only their hearts come together, but their bodies touch to satisfy a deep, mutual longing. I find this poem relatable to our every day interaction with love and the lovers we meet. The core message remains that pure love, even for the first few moments, can co-exist with our other desires to satisfy self.
