Continuing my adventures in the world of Darksiders 2 playing as Death, I reached a part where I finally encounter Father Crow, who has been trying to stop me since I started playing the beginning of this story, where a battle is fought to find a way to resurrect humanity, where because of the war between demons and angels, War was imprisoned by the Circle, having to prove the innocence of War, his brother.
Continuing where I left off, I managed to capture the exact moment when Death uses his avatar transformation, emerging to execute the ice giant I mentioned and fought in my previous post, reaching the large elevator that takes me to the throne of the all-knowing, all-seeing Raven Father.
Due to the abandonment of this place, when the elevator was operational, everything began to crumble.
Once at the top, I simply had to continue climbing any platform I could find, scaling walls and columns that crumbled as soon as I stepped onto them.
Encountering more frozen enemies, I suspect a battle once raged here, freezing the skeletons for all eternity until Father Raven felt threatened by Death's appearance, thus reaching Father Raven's throne room.
When I arrived, the throne room landscape was absolutely breathtaking, revealing a scene that showcased the eerie nature of this place. On the throne sat Father Raven, arguably the father of Dust, the crow who relentlessly pursues Death. Father Raven seemed unnerved by Death's presence, but explained that he hadn't come to kill anyone, only to seek his help and prove his brother War's innocence. However, Death had no intention of helping him.
He proposed a condition to Death in exchange for his assistance, which Death rejected. Death then tried to intimidate him into doing what he wanted, but Father Raven steadfastly refused.
Right at the moment of the fight, the Raven Father uses his power to push Death away, giving him the chance to transform. He takes on the physical appearance of War, Death's brother, and possesses some of his abilities, facing my first boss enemy.
This part was exciting because when I played the first installment, using War as the character in the first story, having the opportunity to face a copy of him reminded me of the abilities I used back then.
The fight was absolutely amazing, and I think it had been a long time since I'd felt that sensation of facing a worthy opponent.
The cutscenes were fantastic, and the movements of pressing the keys on the screen to avoid being defeated by this copy, trying again and again until I achieved victory, defeating the Raven Father and ending his torment, thus concluding the first chapter of this story.
