Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome to my blog. Our guild finished another brawl. We didn't do very well this time and finished near the end of the standings and earned less rewards. In today's post, I will share our performance in the brawl, my own contribution and featured battles.
Guild Rank and Performance
We finished in eight place, near the bottom of the standings. We only won sixty battles and lost fifty seven. We earned sixty one crowns that we can use to upgrade our guild buildings.
My own performance was just average, winning six battles out of nine. Each of us who participated in the brawl earned 3.2k merits and 34 SPS. It's a lot less than we normally receive from brawls.
Featured Battles
Collateral Damage
The battle had the Collateral Damage ruleset. Under this ruleset, all units have the Reckless debilitation. A good strategy in this ruleset is use units that don't attack in between units that do. This way, damage from Reckless is reduced. I used the Earth team led by Kaylia Silverleaf. Because of the ruleset, I didn't use a full elf team and changed the composition of the team as follows.
Quora Towershead
My preferred tank when using the Earth team in brawls. Quora is a complete package of offense and defense. She does dual damage of magic and melee, has a lot of health and has healing ability.
Virid Venomancer
I usually place this next to Quora to her the Shield ability. It gives Quora an additional defense against physical attacks.
Halfling Refugee and Conclave Artificer
Both these units don't attack. I just placed them in between my attackers to absorb damage from Reckless.
Silverleaf Mage
A unit I usually use because I like using Taunt units in my team. She deals three range damage and has a lot of health to absorb enemy attacks.
The enemy team tried to reduce the damage from Reckless by using armor but his team all attack every round and do damage to each other. Coupled with the low health of some of his units, they were soon defeated. Only the enemy's frontline gave a challenge but they were no match for Quora.
Earthquake Ruleset
The next battle had the Earthquake ruleset. Whenever I face this ruleset, dragon is the first choice. The key components of my team in Earthquake rulesets are: a decent tank, a flying unit, Night Reaper and Syrenth if possible. The reason for this strategy is anchored on Night Reaper who is my trump card in Earthquake ruleset. It has the Flying and Wingbreak abilities that decimates other flying units. For this reason, I had another flying unit in front of Night Reaper in case the enemy also had a Night Reaper in his team. Lastly, I would have Syrenth if the mana cap allows to have Taunt unit that draws attacks away from the rest of the team. This team composition usually works most of the time in Earthquake rulesets.
