It is a very delicate issue to make our loved ones convert to our religion. Religion is individual, and it is developed in the heart, not by coercion. Being members of MCGI, we think that the Bible is the real guide towards life.
Yet even in the face of this belief we should keep in mind that love is always first to be had. We are taught in the Bible not to lie in love (Ephesians 4:15). Our words will become heavy and have the opposite effect of driving people away instead of closer together without love.
In my opinion, our actions are the most effective way of persuading our beloved ones. As long as they find patience, humility, and good works in us, they might start asking questions. In the bible, it is written that, Light so shine before men, that they may see thy good works (Matthew 5:16).
It is a powerful testament of a transformed life. In some cases, speech is eloquent than speech.
We must speak softly and decently when communicating with our beloved. The bible tells us, Sanctify the lord God in your hearts: be always ready to give an answer with meekness and fear (1 Peter 3:15).
I have also come to know that listening is significant. Before we share our faith, we need to know about their fears, doubts and experiences.
The role of prayer in this journey is also very important. One can not find faith through argument, but through hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17). Hopefully, God changes their hearts at the opportune moment. Not even Jesus compelled anyone to follow Him, rather He invites them with love.
Ultimately, it is not necessary to win the argument in order to convince our loved ones. It is about leading them to the truth with love, patience and sincerity.
According to the bible, select this day whom ye will serve (Joshua 24:15). Whether to choose or not is up to them, but we can never love one another.
