is a character trait that every believer should possess. When we possess a forgiving heart we reflect the person of Christ. While people of the world choose to retaliate or repay evil for evil we as Christians and doers of God's Word should choose to forgive. It can be difficult atimes, but it is the right thing to do. We should be able to forgive when before our forgiveness by our offenders is being asked for. Jesus forgave the people who persecuted and crucified Him for no just cause when without them asking for forgiveness. This should be our way of life as christians. Refusing to forgive results to a bitter heart and a bitter heart doesn't do us any good only to weigh us down. But forgiveness sets us as peace. As believers we must put the past behind us. We should not carry past hurts with us to the present. It is better we let go of every form of resentment. Forgiveness has a way of liberating us because unforgiveness is a burden and the Bible warns us to put aside every weight as we run the christian race. It is never in God's intention that we walk in anger but in love. If we should count the number of times Christ has forgiven us we would be amazed. That's why He said to Peter that we should be able to forgive as much as seventy seven times. If we are able to forgive that number of times then forgiveness would never be a challenge to us at any point in time.
