ENGLISH VERSIÓN
Once, while in the capital, a colleague from the field of what is now called Visual Arts invited me to the opening of an exhibition at the Galiano Gallery, located on the street of the same name in the Centro Habana municipality.

I entered the exhibition and in the presentation catalog they gave me it said: "Palincestro" and, as they say in good Cuban, I was stunned. It was the first time I had heard that term and, for not asking, I was left with that intellectual doubt. And, of course, I missed part of the understanding of the expo.
Supposedly I took on the task of researching and discovered that it is a term to define the superposition of images in a minimum space, and the figures in cave paintings in some caves are taken as a typical example.
I connect that memory with my vision of capitals, where the coexistence of different architectural styles runs in the same urban spaces, each with its own dialect. Havana, almost in its entirety, is an eclectic city and perhaps the most eclectic in the country.
Havana is an architectural ajiaco. A tasty Creole architectural ajiaco that ranges from the most classic to the most concise and simplified rationalism.
I really enjoy that mixture of forms that envelop my eyes, in which I discover or imagine the history behind the effort and imagination of the architects and workers who have made all those projects a reality over time with their technologies, their difficulties and their solutions.
Eclectic as such, sometimes in a single building it feels the polydiscursive hubbub of styles; sometimes more harmonious, other times more discordant, but coexisting in their component elements, such as the materials with which they were made or are still built.
I am always amazed by the architectural framework rich in details and exotic decorations of the Gran Teatro de La Habana (GTH), today Alicia Alonso, and the striking simplicity of the Museum of Cuban Art (Bellas Artes) with its contemporary domed glass walls that reflect the daily life of the environment, harmoniously integrating into an architectural environment essentially colonial.
In Havana, people and vehicles are eclectic and palimpsestic in their ways and fashions. Mixtures of habits and customs united with the feverish imagination to transform spaces, vehicles and whatever is necessary to survive and transcend.
It is not for nothing that the city has the honorific title of "Wonder City." Although I would nickname it Palincestro City.

Una vez, estando en la capital, un colega del giro de las ahora llamadas Artes Visuales me invitó a la inauguración de una exposición en la Galería Galiano, ubicada en la calle del mismo nombre del municipio Centro Habana.
Entré a la exposición y en el catálogo de presentación que me entregaron decía: "Palincestro" y, como se dice en buen cubano, me quedé botao. Era la primera vez que oía ese término y, por no preguntar, me quedé con aquella duda intelectual. Y, por supuesto, me perdí parte del entendimiento de la expo.
Se supone que me di a la tarea de investigar y descubrí que es un término para definir la superposición de imágenes en un mínimo espacio, y se toma como ejemplo típico las figuras de las pinturas rupestres en algunas cuevas.
Ese recuerdo lo conecto con mi visión de las capitales, donde la convivencia de diferentes estilos arquitectónicos discurre en los mismos espacios urbanos, cada uno con su dialecto propio. La Habana, casi en su totalidad, es una ciudad ecléctica y quizás la más ecléctica del país.
La Habana es un ajiaco arquitectónico. Un sabroso ajiaco arquitectónico criollo que va desde lo más clásico hasta el racionalismo más escueto y simplificado.
Yo disfruto mucho de ese mejunje de formas que me envuelven la vista, en el que descubro o me imagino la historia detrás del esfuerzo e imaginación de los arquitectos y los obreros que han hecho realidad todos aquellos proyectos a lo largo del tiempo con sus tecnologías, sus dificultades y sus soluciones.
Ecléctico como tal, a veces en un solo edificio se siente la algarabía polidiscursiva de los estilos; unas veces más armónicas, otras más discordantes, pero conviviendo en sus elementos componentes, como los materiales con que se hicieron o que aún se construyen.
Siempre me asombro ante la entramada arquitectura rica en detalles y exóticas decoraciones del Gran Teatro de La Habana (GTH), hoy Alicia Alonso, y la llamativa simpleza del Museo de Arte Cubano (Bellas Artes) con sus contemporáneas paredes de cristal abovedado que reflejan la vida cotidiana del entorno, integrándose armoniosamente a un ambiente de arquitectura esencialmente colonial.
En La Habana, las personas y los vehículos son eclécticos y palimpsésticos en sus modos y modas. Mezclas de hábitos y costumbres unidas al febril imaginario para transformar espacios, vehículos y cuanta cosa haga falta para subsistir y trascender.
No por gusto la ciudad tiene el título honorífico de "Ciudad Maravilla". Aunque yo la apodaría Ciudad Palincestro.
