    Traditional Medication Versus Modern Medication

As a child while growing up, I had a test of what traditional medicine was all about. Then treating malaria comes with boiling bitter herbs and then each morning we take a shot of it before finally brushing our teeth and I will tell you traditional medicine works the same with modern medication.

Health is wealth, millions of people are worried about being financially stable. But then you can't be financially stable when you neglect your health. As a health worker, I will always advise to always take precautions.

For instance, malaria. There are different protective mechanisms to always protect ourselves from mosquito bites, by keeping our surroundings clean and sleeping under mosquito nets that way we prevent malaria and never neglect any signs even if it's a headache, it means something.

I have two experiences of people who died over something that could be prevented. One was an elderly woman who had a tooth ache but perhaps neglected it for a long time and was patiently using traditional medicine to cure it but then it wasn't working. The swelling came and still she neglected until it escalated so badly that it got so worse.

The swelling disfigured her face and approached her throat, she would have also neglected it too if not that she couldn't swallow probably. And the swelling was in a dangerous position. Her life was 50/50

You can see how little issues that could have been prevented turned into something she now has to fight for her own Life.

Toothache doesn't just start, it gives signs which obviously everyone neglects. The pain might come and go but that doesn't mean it has disappeared completely instead you're creating more harm to your teeth. Once a tooth becomes curious, it transfers to another tooth and another. You might notice immediately but then after some years, you begin to feel a hole which most people still neglect because it's not painful then.

Once you notice any hole in any tooth, try as much as possible to visit a dentist and fill it up immediately. If you neglect it then, you're at the risk of losing that tooth and causing more harm to your healthy teeth.

Furthermore, traditional medicine can be good to an extent but a daily routine check should be done. Most diseases in the body hide without showing any signs, or it might show signs but then it's been ignored. Routine check up is necessary and whenever you take traditional medicine and there is no improvement in your health then try to visit a hospital and confirm what exactly is wrong with you.

Go for a scan and test to know exactly what is wrong. Don't guess it could be this and that. Find out what is actually wrong and make sure you treat it properly.

In conclusion, I will go for the two. To some extent modern medication has saved so many lives because of ignorance. I will say modern medication is like a limelight to traditional medication. With the knowledge of the both I believe many lives will be saved.
