I want to share with you what happened yesterday with my mother. It was a chaotic day of errands and bureaucracy 😖, but it ended up being a fun outing 😚. All we had to do was go to a store to buy something specific, then to the bank to withdraw money, and then to the supermarket. However, when we arrived at the first bank (we had to go to two different banks), it was incredibly crowded. Of course, they're still paying pensions to senior citizens, but the bank branch we went to is in downtown Valencia (Venezuela), and it's usually packed. That's why I always go to the north where there are hardly any people, but since we had other things to do downtown, I didn't have much of a choice. However, we weren't there long, only about 15 or 20 minutes.
Quiero compartir con ustedes lo que fue el día de ayer que estuve con mi madre en un día caótico de diligencias y burocracia 😖, pero que finalmente se convirtió en una salida de esparcimiento 😚. Y es que lo único que teníamos que hacer era ir a una tienda a comprar algo en específico, luego al banco a sacar dinero y después al supermercado, sin embargo al llegar al primer banco (Debíamos ir a dos entidades bancarias diferentes) había muchísima gente, desde luego, aún están pagando las pensiones a las personas de la tercera edad, pero el caso es que la agencia bancaria a la que fuimos es la del centro de la ciudad de Valencia (Venezuela), y esa por lo general está muy llena de gente, por eso siempre voy al norte donde casi no hay gente, pero como debíamos ir a hacer otras cosas en el centro no me quedaba otra opción. Sin embargo allí no tardamos mucho, solo unos 15 o 20 minutos.
Wow! but when we got to the other agency we were supposed to go to, it was chaotic! There were so many people, so many that I spent three hours in line, which exhausted me completely and made me swear I'd never go back there if I could help it. I prefer going to the agencies in the north of the city where there are usually much fewer people. 😄 My mom was waiting for me in the plaza while I endured that interminable wait, so I left there with my back completely wrecked.
¡Wow! pero cuando llegamos a la otra agencia a la que debíamos ir fue CAOTICO, había muchísima gente, tanto que me tardé 3 HORAS en la fila, lo cuál me agotó muchísimo y me hizo jurar que jamás regresaría allí si podía evitarlo, prefiero ir a las agencias del norte de la ciudad donde por lo general el flujo de gente es muchísimo menor. 😄 Mi mamá me estaba esperando en la plaza mientras yo hacía esa espera interminable, así que salí de allí con la espalda hecha trizas.
And when we went to the supermarket to shop, I was stunned by the number of people there 😲. The thing is, the prices at that specific supermarket are much lower compared to others. For example, a kilo of cheese is $5 while at others it's $7, and a kilo of corn flour is $0.90 while at others it's $1.36. But obviously, saving money comes at a price, hehe, in this case, with time and more tiredness.
Y cuando fuimos al supermercado a comprar me quedé atónita con la cantidad de personas que había allí 😲, lo que sucede es que los precios de ese supermercado en específico son mucho menor en comparación con otros, por ejemplo el kilo de queso está en 5 $ mientras que en otros está en 7, un kilo de harina de maíz está en 0.90 $ mientras que en otros está en 1.36 $, pero obviamente la economía cuesta de alguna manera, jeje, en este caso con tiempo y más cansancio
This supermarket has always been much cheaper than the others and the products are of very high quality, but yesterday there were also many offers so everyone who passed by went in, and since the space is small it got very crowded, fortunately the line moved faster than I thought, but haha, I hadn't seen so many people in lines since the time of food shortages that Venezuela had back then.
Este supermercado siempre ha sido mucho más barato que los demás y los productos son de altísima calidad, pero es que además ayer había muchísimas ofertas así que todo el que pasaba por allí entraba, y como el espacio es pequeño se llenaba muchísimo de gente, afortunadamente la fila avanzó más rápido de lo que pensé, pero jaja, yo no había visto tantas personas en filas desde la época de escases alimentaria que tuvo Venezuela en aquellos tiempos.
But after that, my mom and I went to treat ourselves 😊 at a street drinks stand. With this, we would enjoy a refreshing drink while giving ourselves the opportunity to spend time together and enjoy the place a little, the historic center of the city of Valencia, which is very beautiful nowadays.
Pero ya después de allí mi mamá y yo nos fuimos a dar un buen gusto 😊 en un puesto de bebidas callejero, con esto disfrutaríamos de una refrescante bebida mientras nos dábamos, ahora sí, la oportunidad de pasar tiempo juntas y disfrutar un poco el lugar, el casco histórico de la ciudad de Valencia que hoy en día está muy bonito.
The drink we ordered is called Chicha, and for those who aren't from Venezuela, I'll give you some background: it's a drink made with cooked rice, whole milk, and condensed milk. It's usually served very cold with cinnamon (that's the traditional version). However, places like this one have given it a twist, adding chocolate syrup and toppings of the customer's choice. We chose chocolate cereal, but they also had peanuts, chocolate chips, and cookies. It's a sweet but very refreshing and delicious drink; I highly recommend it. 😊
La bebida que pedimos se llama Chicha, y para los que no son de Venezuela les daré más contexto, es una bebida hecha con arroz cocido, leche entera y leche condensada, suele servirse muy fría y con canela (esa es la versión tradicional) sin embargo los puestos como este la han Re versionado un poco, añadiendo sirope de chocolate y toppings a elección del cliente, nosotras elegimos cereal de chocolate pero había mani, chispas de chocolate y galletas. Es una bebida dulce pero muy refrescante y deliciosa, se las recomiendo 😊.
We wanted to visit other parts of the city, but by then we were very tired, so we went back home. However, we both like spending time together outside the house; we often go shopping, make plans, gather ideas and inspiration, and this motivates us a lot, especially now that the year has just begun and we entrust ourselves to God for the projects we have in mind.
Quisimos visitar otros puntos de la ciudad pero a esas alturas estábamos ya muy cansadas, así que regresamos a casa, sin embargo a las dos nos gusta pasar tiempo juntas fuera de casa, a menudo vamos de compras, hacemos planes, tomamos ideas e inspiración y esto nos motiva mucho, en especial ahora que el año recién inicia y nos encomendamos a Dios para los proyectos que tenemos en mente.
