Later, his wife was not comfortable with his political career again because he did not have time for his family. One day, Madam Janet sat on a couch placed in the corridor of her husband’s house, lost in thought. Mr. Andrew's best friend was coming but she did not see him coming to the house. In fact, he was cracking jokes as he was coming, but she did not notice that Mr. Sunday was close to her. Afterward, he tapped her shoulder to get her attention.

She was shocked, Ah! When did you come here? How is your family and business? I am happy to see you. Do you care for drinking water? Let me go and get it for you. Madam Janet asked.

Mr. Sunday said Thank you very much for the hospitality. If I can ask you some questions. What is bothering you? Please confide in me. Although I came here to check on my friend, I can't pretend to see what is going on with you.

She was reluctant to respond. Nothing, don't bother. I will be fine. Concerning your friend, he is not around as usual. Said Madam Janet.

He was curious to know what was going on, but Madam Janet said nothing. “It was just personal stuff and I will be fine.” Please never mind.

That was how Mr. Sunday left her home. After some weeks, Mr. Andrew and Mr. Sunday met at the funeral ceremony of the ex-governor. Mr. Sunday was forced to discuss the matter with Mr. Andrew.

“Please, I am sorry to poke my nose into your family affairs. But we are friends and whatever is bothering you should also bother me. The position I met your wife was not good at all. Although she did not tell me anything, I know that the woman was not happy. I want you to know what is going on with her.” Said Mr. Sunday.

Mr. Andrew exclaimed. “Really! Do you mean what you are saying? Okay, thank you very much for your observation. I will work on it. I appreciate your concern.”

That was how they went their separate ways. When he got home, Madam Janet was tidying the kitchen. “Hello everyone, surprise, I'm home darling!” Said Mr. Andrew.

Madam Janet frowned her face. “Hiss, so they just released you. Wayward man, your mistress has just been discharged to come home. You forgot that you put someone at home. When you were nothing, we enjoyed you as a man of the house. But now, we don't enjoy you anymore.”

Mr. Andrew embraced her. “Darling, it was work that did not allow me to stay home. I am sorry for the inconvenience that I might have caused you. I will make up to you. In fact, I am going to stay the whole week indoors. It is going to be you and me.”

Madam Janet smiled. “What do you want to eat? Or have you eaten before coming home? Whether you have eaten or not, I am going to prepare your favorite food.”

However, she went straight to the kitchen and set food on fire. As she was doing that she entered the bathroom to rinse her body and melody songs were coming out of the bathroom. Afterward, she was serving the dining table. Suddenly, Mr. Andrew received an urgent call from Mr. Governor, his excellency that there is an emergency meeting right now.

Madam Janet started nagging. “You are going again. The time we are supposed to discuss important issues as husband and wife. When am I going to enjoy my husband? Now that I have taken my bath because of you. You know that I missed you. Before you go, eat the food I prepared for you. If it is negligible, eat it. So my efforts will not be in vain.”

“Don't worry darling, I will eat all the food when I am back at the house. I can't spend a second here again. I have to go. I promise to come and do the needful tomorrow afternoon. Just prepare for me. I am going to make up to you. ” Said Mr. Andrew.

Madam Janet was disappointed. “Ah! This man. Is this how you want to treat me? Am I engaged to another person's husband? Okay, I should wait till tomorrow afternoon. No problem.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Andrew’s older daughter named Josephine was also coming home tomorrow he had promised, and it was her father who went to carry her up from school.

Nevertheless, the following day, in the evening around 5:30 PM. Josephine and her dad were in the vehicle coming home. When they got home, Mr.Andrew had to call the gate man to open the gate. As they entered the compound, they stepped out of the car and some people who were knocking on the gate happened to be some members of his political party and he was also hearing funny noises inside the house.

Mr. Andrew asked Josephine to go and check what was going on in the house and the gate man should also open the gate door for the people who were knocking. Mr. Andrew remained outside waiting for the people who were moving in.

Alright Sir, Josephine carried luggage in the car. As she entered the living room, she said Ah! Mummy. And she rushed outside again.

“What is the matter with you Josephine? What was going on inside?” Said Andrew.

“Nothing was happening in the house, Dad. My Mummy was praying in the living room, which was why she was speaking in tongues. My Mummy was praying for you and the entire family.” Said Josephine.

Mr. Andrew was marveled. “Wow! So my wife was praying for me. That is a good one. We are going to be blessed today.”

Madam Janet did not feel comfortable at home again. She was terrifying and felt remorseful. If Mr. Andrew calls her once, she will answer more than three times.

When Josephine noticed that this act from her mother was suspicious. “Mum, stop this act. Please Mum, you thought that I told my dad what I saw. No, I did not tell him. But why did you do such a thing under my father’s roof? You and my Dad's best friend Mr. Sunday. I can't believe he could do a thing to my Dad. Despite how my dad treated him as his blood. I want to ask you a question. How did you escape Mr. Sunday that day Mummy? Dad did not know anything about what happened.”

“Are you sure? I thought you told your father about the incident.” Said Madam Janet.

Josephine cuts in. “No, I did not say it. If I told him, what is going to be my gain? I can't lose you and my Daddy. If my father sends you out of the house, another woman can not replace your position in my life. But you have to promise me that it will never repeat itself.”

“Your father had not touched me for a year, and blood and water are also running in my body. He only cares about his political ambition. I promise you my daughter. I will not do it again. It was your father who pushed me into it.” Madam Janet concluded.

Hi Raymond. Your story is such a relatable one, as it highlights the abandonment that often happens in homes where one spouse has a demanding career. What I didn't expect was the mature dialogue between mother and child. I wonder how old the kid would have been to make the decision to withhold such information. Regardless, my heart goes out to people like Janet, who have been starved of the essential things that makes her marriage.
