WELCOME TO SABANG ISLAND // Sailing to Sabang Island and being greeted by a dream sunset - Realizing a long-delayed dream.

We departed from Ulee lheue harbor at 5 pm, at that time the KMP Aceh hebat2 dua ship was carrying more than hundreds of people, vehicles and logistics, on the ocean this ship was moving slowly but surely. We chose to sit on the 3rd floor because it was more open and higher so we could see the natural scenery with a wider and clearer view. At 5 pm the sun had begun to set and the orange rays of the sun had begun to appear and this was the moment I wanted.

The downside is that there are not many passenger seats on the 3rd floor, so some visitors choose to stand or sit on the floor. This is my first time sailing on this big ship and it is my first experience of vacationing on Sabang Island.

The ship began to move away from the harbor and passed through the large estuary, from the 3rd floor I could see the estuary rocks on the edge of the sea and also the tourist destinations on the edge of Ulee Lheue beach. I was very enthusiastic, I can't express my happiness in words, I think this is a journey that will take me to something very great

If I'm not mistaken, the crossing distance from Ulee Lheue Port to Balohan Port (Sabang) is around 15-20 nautical miles, and it can take around 1 and a half hours using a large ship, but if we want to travel faster, we can take an express ship which only takes around 40 minutes.

The further the ship sailed, the appearance of Ulee Lheue harbor became less visible, at this moment something I didn't want happened, namely I started to get seasick, my mouth started to taste salty and my stomach felt uncomfortable, but I still didn't want to sit and still chose to stand, I didn't want to miss this moment even a little, especially since I only had to wait another hour to be able to enjoy the charm of the sunset.

Time continues to pass and the ship continues to move towards Sabang harbor.From the middle of the sea I can see the view of the mountains rising high behind it, it is very beautiful and looks like an amazing painting. The orange rays of the sun have begun to appear but have not yet reached the peak of its beauty.

From the stern area of ​​the ship I could see the foaming water path caused by the movement of the propeller which looked as if it was splitting the ocean, this view was still very strange to me because it was the first time I had seen it directly, it looked so amazing.

After about 30 minutes, I was finally able to see the charm of the sunset which was at the peak of its beauty. Even though at that time I was a bit dizzy, I still tried to enjoy this view as much as possible. At that time I was really stunned by this view, because usually I see the view of the sunset on land, but this time I saw it directly from the middle of the ocean.

10 minutes later, the ship's captain finally made an announcement that the ship would soon arrive at the port of Sabang Island,hearing this statement, I became very happy.

When the ship had completely stopped, I immediately rushed down to the harbor,it was already getting dark, but I could still see the view of the towering mountains clearly.As soon as we left the port area, the first thing we did was look for a motorbike rental place, because there were 4 of us so we planned to rent two motorbikes only,luckily not far from the port area there were lots of places or motorbike or car rental services.

I forgot how much it cost to rent a motorbike, especially since my friend was the one renting it. After everything was done, we headed straight to the accommodation we'd booked.

After leaving the port area, we will immediately be greeted by a large gate that says "Welcome to the city of Sabang". My eyes kept looking here and there, but all I could see was the darkness of the night. I was very curious about the condition of the city of Sabang, but I had to be patient until tomorrow morning to be able to see and enjoy it.
