Hello everyone. Today I will present you one of our favorite places for a trip, a walk, a vacation, when we are in my hometown Loznica. I will write to you and depict a place called Tronoša with a picture. Tronoša is part of the large village of Korenita, which is about 10 km away from Loznica. When Tronoša is mentioned, the first thing that comes to mind is the beautiful monastery with its surroundings, and the second is Vuk Karadzic, because it was in the monastery that the famous reformer of the Serbian language, Vuk Karadzic, went to school and learned his first letters. According to the books and records kept in the museum in the monastery and in the city museum in Loznica, it is written that the monastery was an endowment of King Dragutin and his wife Katarina and that it was built in the early 1300s. It was burned to the ground several times and rebuilt every time. During the Second World War, the Tronoša monastery housed a hospital where everyone from the vicinity of Loznica, Šabac, and Valjevo was treated.
Before reaching the monastery, there is a church on the right, about a hundred meters away, the entrance of which cannot be seen from the street, but the most famous fountain called 9 Jugovića can be seen from the street. According to old books, the fountain was built by Jug Bogdan and his 9 sons. This is where the Tronoš water springs, one of the cleanest waters. Around the fountain, a beautifully landscaped park, grass, tall pines and the greatest shade and salvation when it's hot. That's why we often go there. Annually, during the summer, we are there almost every other day.
Now a little about the monastery and its beauty. The approach to the monastery is made of stone, and the entrance is through a large wooden door. When you enter the monastery yard, on the left is the monastery church, on the right is the inn, and on the left is the museum of Vuk Karadžić. The entire monastery complex is beautifully decorated with flowers in every corner of the yard. On the lower side of the monastery there are memorial plaques and the graves of all the elders of the monastery who were buried there. Due to the proximity of the city, most young people decide to have their church wedding in this monastery church. Next to the monastery flows the Korenita river, which, after the source I already wrote about, joins and forms the Žeravija river, which flows all the way to Tršić, the birthplace of Vuk Karadžić.
Every guest who comes to the monastery is welcomed with honey made by monks and nuns, blackberry sweets and homemade brandy. Everyone who comes once, returns to Tronoša again in passing, because whoever was there once, believe me, was always happy to return. The forest, chirping birds, gurgling water, peace, clean air, provide tranquility, peace of mind and beauty to the eye. If your journey takes you to Serbia, then to my Loznica, in addition to the Drina, Gučevo, Tršić, Mačkovo kamen, Banja Koviljača, be sure to come to Tronoša as well.
Thanks for reading my post.
