No estoy muy segura que puedo aportar de este lado de mi experiencia, pero no puedo negar que además de que a mi me suceden situaciones casi mágicas, suelo solucionar los problemas en formas muy peculiares. Mi experiencia la puedo aportar desde un punto de vista diferente, más por mi comportamiento que por hablar.
Mis amigas en la escuela especial decían que yo era diferente, llegaba en la mañana, saludaba y me iba al salón a esperar a los alumnos. Ellas se quedaban conversando (lo que yo llamo intercambiando chismes) y no es que no me gusten los chismes, los escucho; pero conmigo sufren una detención por lo general.
Recuerdo la primera vez que tuve que enfrentarme a una pelea en mi grupo de alumnos especiales, mi primer movimiento fue separarlos pero volvió a repetirse en la semana. No eran alumnos mayores, así que mi cerebro solo me dijo es por imitación y luego hice algo inesperado para ellos que esperaban que los separara otra vez. Me senté en el suelo, los demás alumnos hicieron un círculo a su alrededor y mientras yo aplaudía les dije: ... un dale varias veces. Los dos alumnos dejaron de pelear al prestarle la atención de todo el grupo. No volví a tener ninguna pelea en aula. Lo diferente me dio resultado.

I'm not entirely sure what I can contribute from this side of my experience, but I can't deny that, besides the almost magical situations that seem to happen to me, I tend to solve problems in very peculiar ways. I can contribute my experience from a different perspective, more through my behavior than through talking.
My friends at the special education school said I was different. I would arrive in the morning, say hello, and go to the classroom to wait for the students. They would stay and chat (what I call gossiping), and it's not that I don't like gossip—I listen to it—but with me, they usually get detention.
I remember the first time I had to deal with a fight in my group of special education students. My first reaction was to separate them, but it happened again during the week. They weren't older students, so my brain just told me it was imitation, and then I did something unexpected for them, since they expected me to separate them again. I sat on the floor, the other students formed a circle around them, and while I clapped, I said, "...a 'dale' several times." The two students stopped fighting once the whole group's attention was focused on them. I never had another fight in the classroom. The different approach worked.
Me encanta cuando otras personas encuentran su forma peculiar de llevar la vida, simplemente otro camino ante las dificultades. Y se vuelven ejemplo para nosotros con su forma especial de ser. Tomar lo más resaltante de estas personas que tienen una forma especial de mirar la vida y encontrarle soluciones a todo. Muchas veces el conocimiento ayuda en estas formas especiales para encontrar soluciones diferentes a los problemas. Yo admiro mucho a estas personas, me recuerdan a mi profesor de matemáticas que nos daban varios caminos para llegar a la misma solución del problema. Porque tener que seguir lo mismo que hacen los demás.

I love it when other people find their own unique way of navigating life, simply another path in the face of difficulties. And they become an example for us with their special way of being. I take the most remarkable aspects from these people who have a special way of looking at life and finding solutions to everything. Often, knowledge helps in these unique ways of finding different solutions to problems. I greatly admire these people; they remind me of my math teacher who gave us several ways to arrive at the same solution to a problem. Why should we have to follow the same path as everyone else?
Dependiendo de quien lo vea, ser peculiar a la hora de crear, escribir, pintar, trabajar podría volvernos artistas y con eso se vuelve una virtud suertuda si son descubiertas sus habilidades. Solo lo verán como castigo aquellos que no poseen la flexibilidad para encontrar soluciones creativas. Me sonrió cuando alguien nos aporta un punto de vista diferente, significa que alguien se le prendió el bombillo de la peculiaridad.
Ayer tuve una reunión de condominio, entre quejas y discusiones surge siempre la intolerancia para ciertos comportamientos grupales de las áreas comunes, como los niños en la calle jugando, los carros en el portón sin control remoto que no esperan en un lado que les abran. Y de repente les pedí el turno de palabra aportándoles un punto de vista diferente que los puso a pensar. ¿Prefieres al carro extraño delante de ti o detrás de ti que vea en que casa te detienes? Si puedes déjalo pasar delante y no pelees. Tal vez su control se quedo sin pila y como mejor opción se peculiar a la hora de resolver problemas.

Depending on who you ask, being quirky when creating, writing, painting, or working could make us artists, and that becomes a lucky virtue if our abilities are discovered. Only those who lack the flexibility to find creative solutions will see it as a punishment. I smile when someone offers a different perspective; it means someone has had a lightbulb moment with their own unique approach.
Yesterday I had a condo association meeting. Amidst complaints and discussions, intolerance always arises regarding certain group behaviors in the common areas, like children playing in the street or cars parked at the gate without remote controls, not waiting to be let in. Suddenly, I asked for the floor, offering a different perspective that made them think. Do you prefer the unfamiliar car in front of you or behind you, watching which house you stop at? If you can, let it go ahead and don't argue. Perhaps its remote control battery died, and the best option is to be quirky when solving problems.
