Saludos estimados amigos de @hiveargentina, estoy de vuelta en esta comunidad para participar en otra interesante iniciativa, esta vez, un llamado a la acción para este tema que nos invita a reflexionar el amigo @palabras1, “todavía escribes a mano”, un parte importante de nuestra vida y de nuestros cimientos educativos. Invito a participar a @belkyscabrera y @emily2022.
Después de aprender a caminar y a hablar, comenzamos nuestro camino en la escuela, lo que sigue es aprender a leer y a escribir. No recuerdo la etapa del kínder, pero sí la de primer grado, mi padre, durante las vacaciones escolares, antes de cursar primer grado, me enseñó a leer y también la forma correcta de sostener el lápiz para poder escribir. A diferencia de otros niños que iban a aprender con la maestra, ya yo sabía leer, por supuesto, en ese grado hice mis primeras tareas con letra script, que consiste en escribir separado. En primer grado, quienes avanzábamos de nivel, dejamos la letra script para comenzar a escribir corrido, al principio se me hizo pesado, pero luego agarré el ritmo. Y sí, recuerdo que en el salón habían dos pizarrones, uno para los que aún escribían Script y otro para que ya escribían corrido.
Para mejorar todo eso, en los siguientes grados comenzaron los dictados y también la caligrafía, yo me esmeraba por mejorar cada vez más mi letra. En secundaria, me gustaba escribir en un diario y también tenía un cuaderno de versos, allí escribía también agunas canciones. En la universidad, todas mis clases eran escritas a mano, pese a que ya se asomaban las primeras computadoras en el mercado. Luego, comencé a hacer las pasantías y la tesis, allí comenzaron a cambiar las cosas, teníamos que hacer los trabajos en computadora, pero los apuntes claves siempre eran a mano. En esa época inicié un mixto entre tecnología y escribir a mano. Cuando comencé a trabajar, todo se sumió al uso total de las computadoras, así que la escritura a mano se extinguió de mi vida, pero eso tuvo sus consecuencias.
Me acostumbré tanto a escribir en computadora, que perdí la agilidad en la mano para escribir, no podía sostener con firmeza el lápiz o el lapicero, al escribir se me iba la mano y la letra era fea. Allí pensé que un adelanto tecnológico me hizo dar un paso atrás en mis cimientos educativos. Cuanto me costaba escribir a mano algunas frases, imagínense cuando se trataba de varios párrafos. Ahora, respondiendo la pregunta, “todavía escribes a mano?”, aunque en mi lugar de trabajo todo lo hacemos en la computadora y el Smartphone, la respuesta es sí, estoy escribiendo a mano. Cuando fue la última vez que escribí a mano?, justamente este domingo 25 de enero, cuando anoté los ingredientes para una receta.
En mi lugar de trabajo, escribo a mano con frecuencia, tengo una libreta donde anoto todos los datos que debo recopilar para realizar algunos cálculos. A veces, también hago cálculos en el cuaderno. Por otra parte, siempre que hay reuniones tomo apuntes y no solo eso, anoto puntos claves que debo considerar para desempeñar mi cargo. La verdad es que la tecnología ha llegado para facilitarnos la vida, además de simplificar procesos y procedimientos, pero también nos aleja de cosas importantes, en cierta forma nos mal acostumbramos. En mi caso, estoy tan acostumbrada a la tecnología, que en lugar de escribir a mano los ingredientes a mano y sus respectivas proporciones para mis recetas, prefiero tomar una foto, así es más rápido, digo yo.
Además de escribir a mano en mi sitio de trabajo, en casa también anoto en una libretita pequeña algunas cosas, como claves de bancos y correos, como son tantas, imposible recordarlas todas. Además, tener anotadas cosas importantes a mano, tiene sus ventajas, es más seguro, con eso de los ataques cibernéticos y que los equipos podrían dañarse, corremos el riesgo de perder la información. Hoy en día, después de todo, aún escribo a mano y me siento agradecida por ello, es una habilidad que no debemos perder pese a los avances del mundo tecnológico.

Greetings, dear friends of @hiveargentina! I'm back in this community to participate in another interesting initiative. This time, it's a call to action on the topic that our friend @palabras1 invites us to reflect on: "Do people still write by hand?" This is an important part of our lives and our educational foundation. I invite @belkyscabrera and @emily2022 to participate.
After learning to walk and talk, we began our journey in school, and the next step was learning to read and write. I don't remember kindergarten, but I do remember first grade. During the school holidays before I started first grade, my father taught me to read and also the correct way to hold a pencil for writing. Unlike other children who were going to learn with the teacher, I already knew how to read. Of course, in that grade, I did my first assignments in print, which is writing in separate letters. In first grade, those of us who were moving up a level stopped using print and started writing in cursive. At first, it was difficult, but then I got the hang of it. And yes, I remember that there were two blackboards in the classroom, one for those who were still writing in print and another for those who were already writing in cursive.
To improve all of that, in the following grades, dictation and calligraphy practice began, and I strived to improve my handwriting more and more. In high school, I liked to write in a journal, and I also had a notebook of verses where I wrote some songs. In college, all my classes were handwritten, even though the first computers were appearing on the market. Then, I started doing internships and writing my thesis, and things began to change. We had to do the assignments on computers, but the key notes were always handwritten. At that time, I began a hybrid approach, combining technology with handwriting. When I started working, everything became completely computerized, so handwriting disappeared from my life, but that had its consequences.
I got so used to typing on a computer that I lost my hand dexterity. I couldn't hold a pencil or pen firmly; my hand would slip, and my handwriting was messy. I realized that a technological advancement had set me back in my educational foundations. It was so difficult to write even a few sentences by hand, imagine what it was like writing several paragraphs! Now, to answer the question, "Do you still write by hand?", even though everything at my workplace is done on computers and smartphones, the answer is yes, I do write by hand. When was the last time I wrote by hand? Just this past Sunday, January 25th, when I jotted down the ingredients for a recipe.
At my workplace, I frequently write by hand. I have a notebook where I jot down all the data I need to gather for calculations. Sometimes, I even do the calculations in the notebook. Furthermore, whenever there are meetings, I take notes, and not only that, I write down key points I need to consider for my job. The truth is, technology has come to make our lives easier, simplifying processes and procedures, but it also distances us from important things; in a way, we get used to it. In my case, I'm so accustomed to technology that instead of writing down the ingredients and their respective proportions for my recipes by hand, I prefer to take a picture. It's faster that way, I think.
Besides writing by hand at my workplace, I also jot down things at home in a small notebook, like bank and email passwords—there are so many, it's impossible to remember them all. Having important things written down by hand has its advantages; it's safer. With cyberattacks and the possibility of equipment damage, we run the risk of losing information. These days, after all, I still write by hand and I'm grateful for it. It's a skill we shouldn't lose despite the advances in the technological world.
