This is my entry to the Writing Prompt by @mariannewest for 30 January 2026, @mariannewest's Freewrite Writing Prompt Day 2999: mobile home.
They had been with this company for several years now.
The time was coming for retirement, and although they were experienced office workers who could deal with most of the problems and situations that could probably arise at work, they started feeling that the end of their careers was near.
So, every time they tried to have a little chat, the subject of the conversation inevitably shifted to what they would do in retirement.
“So, have you discussed your plans with your husband and kids about life after stopping work?”, Angela asked.
“Yes, I’ve had a little chat with them the other day. I told them about my idea to get a mobile home by the sea to spend our late years with John there”, Jane answered.
“Oh, this is a great idea! Would you like me and Tom to visit you when you finally settle down at that place?”.
“Sure! We would love you to come and see us whenever you wish.”.
