Small introduction to my New Business Card Stamp

Introduction Thought I would share some of the intermediary stages in the making of one my leather artworks. I am almost complete with this one, I am still applying the final layers of edge paint & which will be followed by a layer of top-coat to seal it all in.

I also received my brand new wood-stamp that I ordered in roughly the dimensions of a traditional business card, which I will be using to stamp my own on paper scraps, cardboard & also leather scraps. I did a couple of business cards on Leather even gave them some edge paint & they look exquisite like that.

I love using more than 1 color for stamping, so here using the only ones I have at the moment which is red & green, I got absolutely gorgeous random prints for each business card. Even the business cards feel like miniature pieces of art now.

A different Angle giving a full view of the new giant stamp!

Anyways returning back to the Current Wallet I am almost done with.

I laser printed the outlines which I then used my dip-pen with thinned out leather paint to go over the outlines on the raven

The first layers of color, a mix of pearlescent mauve & green with neon blue, neon green in layers. I filled in other areas white in preparation for the next layer.

Here he is pretty much finished, Due to the nature of the paint it is also Uv-Reactive & will fluoresce under blacklight

The Last Picture you can see the wallet pretty much complete, although the edges are not properly done yet.

There are a lot of moments where I have downtime on a project, waiting for glue to dry, or layers of paint/edge paint to dry, or the laser printer to etch my motif etc.

So I usually am working on a couple of things simultaneously, so I am not just idling in those moments of downtime. Today I created 2 Single Card Holders. One of them I designed as a very luxurious business card, since I stamped the backside with my business card stamp, but functional that it can actually carry 2-3 cards in that single slot.

Here is the first Single Card holder I made, on the backside of this one I stamped my business card stamp onto, in the picture the edge paint is drying

Here it is under mild blacklight

I made another one which I made more refined, this is the backside of that one, this one I custom made as a gift for a friend I've known since childhood, I etched his artist name on the front

Here is the backside of the Card Holder with my business card stamp, the details were hard to bring in focus I couldn't be bothered to take another picture but decided to add at least this one to show

I leave you with this little Journal of my past 2 Days. I'll update you with beautiful shots of the wallet once it is fully complete!
