Good evening, everyone. I haven't been feeling well today, I'm still very sick and I was really fed up with being in bed. I decided to start drawing to distract myself a little from all the discomfort, which helped to a certain extent, but then I started to feel worse and had to rest for a while. Luckily, in the afternoon I managed to finish the drawing and I really like it, it has all the nostalgic and dark style that I like. For a moment, I felt like I had gone overboard with the reddish tones on the face, but who can say that something is wrong if art is precisely that: doing things your way and as you imagine them. I feel like this portrait goes well with the last one I uploaded. It has the same vibe, and I guess that's because of the mood I'm in right now, haha. Anyway. I hope you like it.
This time I wanted a fairly close-up portrait, so I sketched a very large face and then began painting using light, saturated skin tones. On a new layer, I added more colors to give it better shape. For the shadows, I used dark browns, medium tones: reds, strong pinks, browns, lighter tones: skin and cream colors. Then I blended the colors to leave a smooth finish, but with some texture. I also painted the ruff with cream colors and straight strokes without too many details to make it look a little more realistic.
Paint the eyebrows with a curved shape to give them that sad look, and then paint the eyelashes black. For the hair, use light and dark browns and try to create a slightly vintage wavy hairstyle. Now, I was going to leave it like that, but I love adding a little extra to my drawings, so I tried painting tears with reddish colors and I loved it. I had to do it on both eyes... Then I added sparkles around the eyes to give the illusion that she was really crying. As a last step, I just deepened the areas where I wanted a little more saturation.
