Hi everyone, hope you guys are doing great ๐ Today, I'll be sharing my recent evening walk. ๐
We stayed in the city for quite a while and tried to explore around. After finishing all my tasks, my husband and I decided to take a walk. Our daughter wanted to watch a movie, so we all went out together. We accompanied her to the nearest cinema and continued our walk.
We walked through the protected bike lane of Iloilo City. This is a very safe area for bikers and for people who jog or walk. The pavement is elevated and separated from the main road by metal barriers and landscaping. It is also well-lit, with lamp posts everywhere. We passed by the Plazuela de Iloilo and walked a few more meters.
We saw the staircase going up the newly renovated overpass. We can here the colorful steps with Hiligaynon words such as paghiliusa (working together), paghidaet (peace), dungog (pride), pagpalangga (love), katahum (beauty), and more.
This is the only overpass in Iloilo with an elevator. ๐ Yup, you heard it right. This helps people with physical disabilities to cross more easily. But we didn't take the elevator, we took the stairs. ๐
I went to the center and took photos of both sides of the overpass.
All lights were working, giving a sense of safety to everyone. There were still Christmas stars hanging on the street lights, adding to the beauty of the evening.
Here are some of the photos I took while I was on the overpass.
After a few minutes, we went down and continued our walk. We went around and went back to the cinema, and went back home. While walking back home, we saw a buko juice stand. After that long walk, we felt parched, so we bought a cup for each of us. ๐ Refreshing !!
