    Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog and another wonderful edition of the hive learner's featured post. Over the years it is no new news that our leaders have made it a habit to be passing bills and laws that only favours them and help them loot more for them and their generations to come, we live in a world and country where the rich stand a big chance of getting richer while the poor stand little or no chance of ever getting to change their situation and that is because those in power, the people we call the government have set the system to be that way. They structured the system such that it fights against the masses and favors them; sometimes I am left wondering how, like, how do they have something favor them while a large number of people suffer?

As a kid I always believed the politicians were there for the people; they had the interest of the politicians at heart, but now as a grown-up I can tell you for free that they are there for themselves and not for the people; they are there to take all that is supposed to go round for themselves. It is really disheartening to see how bad things get for the masses with each passing day. Since 2015, adults around me have been saying things will get better, and it is over 11 years already, and I don't need a prophet to tell me that things got even worse instead of getting better like they believed.

As of then, a liter of fuel went for about 165 naira; today a liter of fuel goes for about 900 naira. A bag of rice then was about 20,000 naira, but today it goes for about 4 times that price. The price of everything skyrocketed instead of going down, but with the price of everything going up, the salary and wages of the masses stayed the same. How do they cope? Life has been a living hell for the masses but it is completely different for the rich and it feels like we live in two different countries whereas it is not even so, we are all living in same country but some are experiencing different from the way that others are experiencing it.

Every year the huge annual budget presented for basic amenities like construction of roads, provision of machines for hospital but funny how we have even more bad roads with each passing year than we can actually count, those that they managed to fix are now bad alongside those that were not fixed at all and now we have all our roads are bad and we have just a few good ones but funny how the bad roads still only affects the masses while those who are actually supposed to make them better don't even feel them because they hardly use the road as their main mode of transport is by air and then the masses are forced to suffer the effect of bad roads.

Is the government meant for the rich and powerful??

My answer to this question is yes, the government and the benefits that come with the government are only for the benefit of the rich and powerful; the poor or average man cannot even contest for an election and win for so many reasons. Candidacy tickets in the last election were priced at 100 million naira; where is an average man even going to see that amount of money? Even if eventually they find a way to get the money, if they are not powerful enough, they are not going to win, which means the money they spent on the ticket is a waste. All of this just proves that the government is meant for the strong and mighty.
