It's no longer a new thing; many people would agree with me that it has always been the pattern of government to always care more about the rich than the poor. Policies will be announced, billions will be injected into the banks and big industries, and officials will speak about economic recovery, yet the average person's life keeps getting harder.

Everyday prices of food continue to increase, transportation tripled, and house rent becomes increasingly too high for a common man to pay, yet there is no job in the country. Yet every time we keep hearing the amount of money that is being borrowed by the government, one would help but wonder where all this money is going to because at the end of the day, the common man is still suffering.

The leaders in government keep telling us that helping big business helps everyone. The belief is that when banks and industries are supported, they will create jobs, raise wages, and it will work that way. Oftentimes the money stays at the top with company owners and shareholders benefiting, while workers see little or no improvement at all, and they can't even be questioned. They keep making empty promises that they won't fulfill!

One big issue is influence; wealthy people and some large corporations have access to politicians more than ordinary citizens do. Because they have money, they can fund political campaigns; it's often legal. But results are always the same: policies end up favoring just the people who have power. Excuses are made for the rich in terms of taxes, and it's called an “economic incentive,” while for the poor, it's called a "handout." "Corruption in developing countries makes things even worse. Money meant for public services sometimes disappears into private pockets; later we will start hearing that a snake has swallowed it.

Towards the end of their tenure, they will start a project that they will abandon; budgets are inflated. When this happens, who suffers the most? Of course, the poor, because we rely heavily on public healthcare, education, and infrastructure. Corruption alone doesn't fully explain the problem, because even in countries where corruption is less obvious, inequality keeps growing.

There are issues of how economic pain is distributed. When governments print money or take loans to stabilize the economy, inflation often follows, like during the cashless policy when the government wanted to do away with old money so a new one could be introduced. It was the poor masses that suffered the most; the rich didn't feel it because they always have a way to maneuver things, their investments, and assets, which protect them. It is the poor that feel the hardest. So when prices rise, survival becomes a struggle. IMG-20260129-WA0105.jpg But now it feels like government exists mainly for the system, not for the people. Markets must remain stable. Investors must stay confident. Meanwhile, ordinary citizens are told to be patient, to endure, and to hope things will get better someday. That “someday never comes.

At the end of the day, people's frustration is understandable; people don't want miracles; they just want fairness. Everybody wants to see policies that actually improve lives, not just balance economic charts. Until our government prioritizes accountability, equity, and the real needs of the masses.

The rich keep getting rich while the poor keep getting poor, you will wonder sometimes what the governemnt are there for, the politicians are in the pockets of these rich ones, making the economy worse. Good things are enjoyed by the rich while the poor suffer the bad decisions.
