Are you a coffee and koi fish lover? Currently in Bali or planning a trip? Then this unique coffee shop offers a one-of-a-kind, pleasant, and fun experience you won’t find anywhere else!
The place called BSH Coffee House, located in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia, and features a truly unique design that sets it apart from other cafés: a transparent aquarium ceiling with live koi fish swimming inside! Where else could you find a place like this?
I visited this place quite a while ago, in 2021, during my holiday in Bali. I only got the chance to share my experience at this amazing place now. The café is actually quite small and has both indoor and outdoor seating areas, but despite its size, the decoration and overall vibe are really nice. With an industrial theme, shady plants, and garden swings, it creates a comfy and homey atmosphere.
However, even the outdoor space is quite comfortable. My favorite spot—and most people’s too was definitely the indoor area where the aquarium ceiling is. After all, where else can you enjoy a cup of coffee while having live fish swim above you?
For me, the feeling was a bit unreal and magical. When you look up at the sky, you’re actually watching fish swimming around, almost as if they’re flying. It was kind of gave me the vibe of being in a fantasy movie like Avatar or a Studio Ghibli film.
I had a short chat with the barista about the place. The friendly barista told me that the owner of the place is actually an architect. He designed nearly everything in the café, from the layout, functionality to the material selection. That explains where the unique and creative concept actually came from!
As for the menu, they offer both drinks and food at very affordable prices. At the time, I ordered their iced milk coffee, and it was absolutely delicious! The coffee flavor was bold, and the milk was creamy but not too sweet, which allowed the bitterness of the coffee to blend perfectly with the condensed milk. I didn’t try their food at that time, but I’ll definitely give it a try when I get the chance to come back—it looked delicious, from pastries to mini pizzas and chicken wraps. Friendly baristas, good-quality coffee, and chill lounge music in the background made my day even better. Overall, for me, it was a truly fabulous coffee experience in Bali.
Well, this place is a result of an architect who is also a coffee and fish lover! So, if you’re in Bali or currently planning to visit soon, I do recommend not only visiting beaches, clubs, or rice terraces, but also trying this place for a truly unique and interesting coffee experience. That’s all I can share about BSH Coffee—hope this article is useful and that you enjoyed it. Have a great day, everyone!
