I almost missed the bus! This would have shifted my 6:30 am trip to 10 am, which should be after the monthly sanitation in the east, but somehow I escaped the proposed delay.
One thing about living in a public apartment is the issue of packing space. I travelled to Enugu and stayed in my twin brother's house, which is in a public apartment with up to 20 apartments in the two duplexes within their compound. I have heard so much about how most people in their compound are so nice.
I have heard about how they do things together, how they look out for each other, including their kids, and more especially how the women in the apartments usually contribute to buy foodstuffs of all kinds, including veggies in wholesale and at an affordable price , and then share. Thus, it makes them buy things cheaper and in large quantities to serve them for a longer time.
During my short stay with my twin brother and his wife, I indeed observed the togetherness amongst the tenants and how they do things in unity and peacefully. I loved it and admired them.
However, something happened yesterday early morning. My ticket back to Lagos was scheduled for a 6:30 am departure time, and by 5:50 am, I was ready, but then, there were cars parked after my twin brother's car. They blocked the entrance, and until they drive out, there is no way my brother will drive me to the park. We knocked at their doors, and we called on the phone, all to no avail.
I was worried; I banged so hard at their doors because two vehicles were needed to drive out for us to have space. My brother said it's rare for such to happen; probably they slept so deeply that they couldn't hear us. But finally, just within 15 minutes more for our bus to leave, these men woke up and gave us space to drive out. You needed to see how my brother was running at high speed on the highway just for me to meet up with the bus.
Finally we made it; I was there just at the exact time, otherwise I would have stayed back at the park until after the monthly sanitation by 10 am before we could take off back to Lagos.
Overall, my journey was smooth and fast despite the morning tension
