Yes, the streets of this town are simple. They are certainly streets like those of many other towns in my country these days. The hardships are palpable, as is the slow descent into the category of "abandoned town," a status it has held for over half a century due to economic crisis, accompanied by the exodus of a large part of its population in search of better living conditions. But within all this simplicity, there is also the undeniable resilience developed by people like myself who remain here. All of this comes together and conspires to create interesting scenes and situations. These are glimpses that speak to how things are here, and from my perspective, they are constructed with simplicity, yet at the same time, they can appear complex if viewed through the right lens. And I speak of understanding and recognizing the human capacity to persist in adversity, to laugh while looking at the broken streets, to improvise in the face of thirst, to seek sustenance often with an empty stomach, while reaching into a torn pocket and not finding even a coin to buy bread... And many these days even have "cautious hope" because of the events that have occurred, and despite years and years of constant difficulties, they dare to say: "This will surely improve soon, this time it will"...
Sí, las calles de este pueblo, son simples. Ciertamente son calles como las de muchos de otros pueblos en mi país por estos días. Las carencias están a flor de piel, al igual que el lento descenso a la categoría de "pueblo en abandono" en el cual se sumió el pueblo durante en más de medio siglo de crisis económica acompañada por la "huida" de buena parte de su población en un éxodo cuya intención fue la búsqueda de mejores condiciones de vida. Pero dentro de toda esta simplicidad está también presente la incuestionable resiliencia desarrollada por las personas quienes como yo, por ejemplo, permanecemos aquí. Entonces todo esto se conjuga y conspira para crear escenas y situaciones interesantes. Son visiones que hablan de como esto aquí y, desde mi punto de vista, están construidas con simplicidad, pero un mismo tiempo pueden parecer complejas si se observan a través del cristal adecuado. Y hablo de entender y reconocer la capacidad humana para persistir en lo adverso, para reír mirando las calles rotas, para improvisar ante la sed, para buscar el sustento muchas veces con el estomago vacío y mientras se mete la mano en un bolsillo roto y no encuentra allí siquiera una moneda para comprar un pan... Y muchos en estos días tienen incluso la "esperanza cauta" por los sucesos ocurridos, y a pesar de los años y años de constantes dificultades, se atreven a decir: "Esto seguro mejorará pronto, ahora sí"...

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7
NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape v3.7
