These really cool beetles look like well, trilobites. They're in the Malyasian rainforest and are well, awesome. Heres somewehre to read more about em. https://www.discoverwildlife.com/animal-facts/insects-invertebrates/trilobite-beetle-guide
Before I get into the drawing and progress, I want to give a shout out to @nestodibuja for doing so many works of bug art already!
Check these out! They're so good!

I love the variety of styles and how cute so many of them are!
Anyway, here's wonder wall.
I mean, a trilobite beetle
Not sure why the gif is at the wrong orientation but whatever.
I didn't develop the drawing as much as I wanted because yesterday I was super tired.
I started with the shape, and funny little bumps these funky beetles have.
Having the gif is pretty neat. I used a website to turn the automatically made progress vid(mp4) from Procreate into a gif.
From there I went in with the base colour. The actual beetle is back but I don't like doing straight black, esp digital. But it does get a very dark blue. I think the exporting process did make it very dark.
And it kinda disspears when I added the dark background.
But adding the orange kinda makes it stand out.
Then I added the highlights and did some blending to make the orange blend into the carapace.
