Thinking about what someone gave me, when ... It was necessary to turn on the gray cells to work But I remembered, every day I pass by those plants but one loses one's mind where they come from.My stepfather's mother, who lives in the vicinity of Sombor, some two hundred kilometers from ours, gave me 8 cherries as a gift. They were small young cherry trees. She gave half to my parents and sent half to me. It's been 7-8 years since then.

At first I didn't know what kind of sour cherry it was. But I found out it was a domestic variety called Šumadinka. The Institute in Čačak produced it in 1984 by crossing two popular varieties in the domestic field. The fruits are large and sweet. But what I later found out is that it puts out a lot of young shoots around each plant. I planted all eight plants on the street. Five on one side of the canal and three next to the house between the cypress. which were much smaller then. 20260201_125148.jpg

20260201_125121.jpg But as you can see, these four survived. One cherry tree that was next to these four was broken and the three cherry trees between the cypresses struggled and fought with them. So in the end I had to remove them. And now I would say that the effect of the cherries received is half . but I think it was my mistake that I added them between the thick cypresses . So the cherries just went wild .And of course the real magic of this "wild" cherry tree is that it produces many young shoots, so I managed to successfully plant 12 trees in my garden and orchard. And another cherry tree by the street wall. 20260201_125527.jpg And of course, like any good gardener, I've divided probably over 30 seedlings, I'm not counting, I just said the number by heart. This gift is really wonderful, it gives delicious and sweet cherries, and it has great potential to multiply it.

Thanks for reading. Until next time. Stay healthy. Markone85
