In the Pokemon TCG Pocket, the Fantastical Parade set has been released as its B2 set. Pokebeach has a full cards reveal.
Since there are so many cards, I cover some of them.
Roselia & Roserade
Roselia is an okay attacker in the early game. If you land Heads, then Roselia does 40 damage from 1 Grass Energy.
The Roserade looks like an annoying attacker. For 2 Grass Energy you deal 50 damage plus Poison. And then on top of that you retreat lock the opponent's Active Pokemon.
Reshiram
Reshiram's attack is good provided you can meet the Energy costs. You do have this Charmeleon and Flame Patch.
Blacephalon ex
More Ultra Beast Pokemon are in this set. One of them is Blacephalon ex. To meet the Energy costs for the Pop-Punk attack you have Lusamine and Flare Patch.
Alolan Vulpix & Alolan Ninetales ex
Alolan Vulpix is an okay attacker in the early game.
Alolan Ninetales ex looks like a decent attacker. For two Water Energy, the Binding Snow attack deals 80 damage plus you prevent the opponent from taking any Energy from their Energy Zone to attach to their Active Pokemon. You can potentially lock the opponent's Active Pokemon if they lack Energy to retreat or attack.
Delibird & Cramorant
Even though Delibird can take any Energy for the attack, it looks like a meme attacker. If you get Heads, you deal 70 damage. But if you get Tails you heal 30 damage for the opponent's Active Pokemon.
Cramorant is a Basic Bench hit attacker. One Water to deal 30 damage to an opponent's Benched Pokemon.
Mudkip, Marshtomp, Swampert & Mega Swampert ex
Here is the Swampert evolution line of cards.
I don't know about the Swampert cards. It is not easy to get Stage 2 Pokemon in play and then you have to meet the 3 Water Energy requirements for the attacks.
Vanillite, Vanillish & Vanilluxe With Sweets Relay
It looks like the card designers are not giving on the Sweets Relay attackers. The newest Sweets Relay attacker is Vanilluxe. For 2 Water Energy, the Sweets Relay attack does 60 base damage. You deal 60 more damage if you used Sweets Relay during your last turn.
Crygonal - New Item Lock Attacker
It looks like the card designers are making the Pocket game a lite version of the physical Pokemon TCG. Crygonal is another item lock attacker with more HP than Chingling.
Item lock effects prevent the opponent from using Items like Poke Ball, Rare Candy, Repel, Potion, and so on. Crygonal seems good for going second and for its higher HP versus Chingling. However, you can attack going first on your first turn with Chingling's zero energy attack.
Chingling is the Pocket version of Budew from the physical TCG while Crygonal is like Frillish.
The 3 Ogerpon Cards (Wellspring, Hearthflame and Cornerstone)
The typing on Ogerpon depends on the mask she wears. We have 3 masks along with the Teal Mask one.
Their attacks on each of them are okay. You do have to get lucky and land Heads to get the bonus effect.
Pikachu & Alolan Raichu
Pikachu is a good early attacker. 30 damage can one hit Baby Pokemon like Chingling.
Alolan Raichu is an okay attacker. If a Stadium is in play, then Alolan Raichu has a zero retreat cost. Thunder Spear for 2 Lightning Energy deals 50 damage to any 1 of your opponent's Pokemon.
Toxel & Toxtricity ex
Toxel is not a great attacker but it is needed for Toxtricity ex.
Toxtricity ex could be really dangerous if you manage to meet the Energy costs for its attack. If your opponent's Benched Pokemon has damage on it then Toxtricity ex deals 30 more damage to those Pokemon.
Chandelure Evolution Line
The previous version of these cards were of the Fire typing I think. This Chandelure evolution line is all Psychic and have good attackers given their stage.
The Chandelure in theory can be a dangerous attack. For 2 Psychic Energy, the Past Friends attack deals 60 base damage plus 20 more damage for each Supporter card in your discard pile. Every deck has at 2 copies of Professor's Research. There is also Sabrina, Cyrus and Copycat as likely additions. By the time you get Chandelure in play, you are likely to have at least 3 Supporters in the discard pile. This results in 120 damage at least.
Sinistea & Polteageist
This Polteageist evolution line is kind of interesting. The Refreshing Tea ability can be used upon evolution. This ability is pretty much a hand disruption effect like the Mars supporter card.
Instead of using these 2 cards, you can just use Mars.
Gigalith ex Evolution Line
This Gigalith ex evolution line does not seem very good. High retreat cost and very costly attacks.
Alolan Grimer & Alolan Muk
Alolan Grimer is not great but Alolan Muk seems interesting. It is not a great attacker but the Power of Alchemy ability is very disruptive. When Alolan Muk is in play then Basic Pokemon have no abilities on both sides.
Spiritomb & Guzzlord
Spiritomb spreads damage to the opponent's Pokemon when it is Knocked Out by damage from an attack.
Guzzlord's attack is very expensive and you still have to flip a coin. If you get Heads then you discard the opponent's Active Pokemon (No points are gained). If the opponent has no Benched Pokemon and you discard their only Pokemon then you win. (Alternate win condition.)
Galarian Meowth & Galarian Perrserker
Recovery cards in the Pokemon TCG physical and in Pocket are rare. Galarian Perrserker lets you recover 2 random Pokemon Tool cards from your discard to your hand upon evolution.
Meowth & Persian
Persian is an okay attack but I think Meowth has good utility.
Meowth can serve as a stall wall of sorts. You prevent damage if you flip Heads when Meowth takes damage from attacks. The Feelin' Fine attack for any 1 Energy lets you draw 1 card. Meowth can serve as a partial wall and draw engine as you stall and setup with your Benched Pokemon.
Mega Kangaskhan ex
Here is Mega Kangaskhan ex. It has just one attack but the attack is unique. Double-Punching Family requires 3 of any Energy to deal 80 damage from its first attack. Then the second attack (from the child) deals 40 damage. If you knockout a Pokemon from the first 80 damage attack then the opponent choose a new Pokemon as a new Active Pokemon.
One major con of this Mega Pokemon is that 180 HP is not that much for a Basic Mega Pokemon. Whenever a Mega Pokemon is Knocked out the opponent gets 3 points which is an automatic win.
Smeargle
As an attacker, Smeargle is not great. The Portrait ability looks super interesting and it is unique.
Portrait can only be used if Smeargle is in the Active Spot. You may choose to use the Potrait ability once during your turn. If you do, look at a random Supporter card from your opponent's hand and then use the effect of that Supporter card as this Ability. You can also play your own Supporter card for the turn.
It is possible to copy an opponent's Professor Research and then play your own Professor's Research. That is drawing 4 cards from a 20 card deck. (20% of the deck)
New Trainer Cards
Jaw Fossil for Tyrunt & Tyrantrum
Jaw Fossil is for Tyrunt and Tyrantrum. 40 HP is low making this Fossil vulnerable.
Sail Fossil
Sail Fossil is for the Amaura and Aurorus evolution line.
Lucky Ice Pop
Lucky Ice Pop is a simple healing Item card. It heals 20 damage from your Active Pokemon and you can reuse it if you flip Heads.
This card has been seen before in the regular Pokemon TCG.
Protective Poncho Tool Card
With the increase of Bench hitting attacks, it makes sense that there is a card that protects against bench hitting attacks. Protective Poncho is a Pokemon Tool card where the Pokemon on the Bench with this Tool card prevents all damage done to it by opponent's attacks and abilities.
Metal Core Barrier
Metal Core Barrier is a Pokemon Tool card that lasts until the end of the opponent's turn. The Metal Pokemon this card is attached to takes 50 less damage from opponent's Pokemon attacks.
Diantha, Piers & Sightseer
These 3 have been featured before. Sightseer seems bad, Diantha and Piers are good in certain decks.
Juggler
I would never expect Juggler to appear in the card game. In the Game Boy games, Juggler was not hard to beat. In the Pokemon Stadium N64 games, Juggler was sometimes annoying.
Juggler the Supporter card can only be used if your Pokemon has 3 or more different types of Energy. This is tough condition to meet. One deck that comes to mind is a Ho-Oh ex themed deck. Then you move all Energy from each of your Benched Pokemon to your Active Pokemon.
Trainer Area Stadium
Trainer Area stadium is a simple Stadium card. Stage 1 Pokemon in play (on both sides) do 10 more damage to the opponent's Active Pokemon.
Decks with Stage 1 attackers benefit from having this Stadium in deck.
There is Practice Studio from the regular Pokemon TCG. The effect is the same. This card in the regular TCG is not really used much. As the HPs are lower in the Pocket TCG game, I do think Trainer Area will see use.
Peculiar Plaza Stadium
Peculiar Plaza was covered before. Psychic Pokemon in play have a minus two retreat cost.
Starting Plains Stadium
Starting Plains is a simple stadium card that boosts the HP of Basic Pokemon by 20. This Stadium is good in decks where all the attackers are Basic Pokemon.
One thing to be careful of is this scenario. Suppose you have this stadium in play and a Basic Pokemon with 80 HP with 60 damage on it.
If this Stadium is removed and replaced by a different Stadium, then the 80HP Basic Pokemon now becomes a 60HP Pokemon. If there is enough damage on it, then that Pokemon is Knocked Out. A Stadium removal can result in a Knockout.
Some Shiny Cards
Every set has some shiny cards for people to collect. Shiny cards tend to be reprinted cards from previous sets. Here are some of them.
Colourful Illustration Rare Cards
Here are some new illustration rare cards in the new Pocket set. Since there are so many of them, I feature a few that I like.
Notes
Psychic types get a big boost from this set with the new Psychic Pokemon, Mega Gardevoir ex and Peculiar Plaza.
We get more Galarian Pokemon, Alolan Pokemon and a few more Ultra Beasts.
For those people who are more hardcore, I would not know if the metagame would shift. Maybe Mega Gardevoir ex decks can shakes things up.
