Legacy 3Speak Domain Removal Tool - Fix your old 3Speak Content

today while I was doing some research for Worldmappin I ran into something that I really did not expect. I was looking through some of my older posts from years ago, especially posts that I uploaded through 3Speak or that were published with the 3Speak Website in the past. While scrolling through the older content I noticed something strange in the links. At first I thought it was just a mistake in my editor, but after checking a few more posts I realised there was a real problem.

Back in the early days of 3Speak a second domain called 3speak.online was used for hosting and embedding videos. It seems that this domain does not belong to the 3Speak team anymore. In fact, it now leads to a completely unrelated website that looks like a Russian gambling page. You do not need to visit it, and honestly you really should not, because it has nothing to do with Hive or 3Speak. It seems like the domain was not renewed or transferred properly, and someone else has taken it over.

As many of you know, I often deal with security issues on different Hive frontends. Every now and then I find something that needs attention, but this situation was new because it affects the old content of many users. If you ever used the old 3Speak Website, your posts may still contain links that point to this abandoned domain. This means that someone reading your old blog post today might click on a video link and end up on a gambling site instead of seeing your original video. That is not only confusing for readers, it is also not great for the reputation of the 3speak platform.

🔄 Step-by-Step Redirect Analysis

1. The Entry Point URL: 3speak.online/watch?v=louis88/rakifmws

   • Status: 301 Moved Permanently
   • What happened: The server receives the request and immediately pushes it to a partner domain.

2. The Bridge (Middle-man) URL: casino.mriya.social/3speak-online/

   • Status: 301 Moved Permanently
   • What happened: This domain acts as a traffic router, forwarding the browser one step further to the final host.

3. The Final Destination URL: casinosua.club/3speak-online/

   • Status: 304 Not Modified
   • What happened: The browser reaches the target. Because the content is already in the local cache, the server sends a "304" signal to load it instantly from memory instead of downloading it again.

Recently I already reported internally a critical security issue to the 3Speak team, and the fix for that is on the way, which is good news. But for this new issue needed a quick and practical solution because it affects many posts across the network and not much is here on my or 3Speak's control.

So I sat down for a few hours today and built a small tool for you. It is very simple to use. You enter your username, and the tool scans all your posts for the malicious old domain. After the scan you get a list with every affected post. With one single click on “Fix” the tool updates the content. It takes the original text and replaces the bad URL with a safe one. This way, if someone opens your old blog post in the future, they will no longer be redirected to that gambling page.

It is a small thing, but it helps protect your content and keeps Hive clean. If you used 3Speak in the past, I recommend running the tool once and fixing everything. It only takes a few moments and saves your readers from a very confusing or possible dangerous experience.

Fix Your old Posts - With Keychain in 2 Clicks

As I already mentioned, I spent a few hours today working on this little project, and yes, donations are always welcome because building tools for the community does take quite a bit of time and energy. I wanted to give everyone an easy way to repair old 3Speak content without having to edit every single post by hand. Some of us have been on Hive for many years and have hundreds of posts, so doing this manually would be a nightmare.

There you only need to enter your Hive username, the one you used back when you posted through 3Speak. After that you click on “Scan” and the tool starts scanning all your old posts in the background.

Once the scan is complete, Click "Fix Link" and Hive Keychain will open automatically. Keychain shows you a preview of how the corrected post will look before you approve anything. (See Screenshot below) This is important because your post history is valuable and you should always be able to see what will be changed. The edited version removes the abandoned 3speak.online domain and replaces it with a safe link so readers do not get redirected to a gambling page anymore.

At PeakD, I double-checked an old article of mine and the changes were accepted. In the screenshot below, you can see the old version and the new version side by side. The domain was then replaced in the content. Unfortunately, my old videos are somehow no longer playable on 3Speak... for whatever reason. Apparently, my old videos have been deleted from 3Speak, if the screenshot that appears when I try to watch an old video is to be believed:
