Greetings Splinterlands community and Hive players! In early January, I decided to start the year with a series of guides for those new to Splinterlands as a simple way to get to know and explore the game. I started Part 1 on January 2nd and didn't want to let the month end without sharing the second part of these updated 2026 guides. This time, we'll look at how to rent cards in the game. If you're already playing Modern or Wild ranked, you'll know that not all players own every card. We're talking about six card sets, each with its own reward sets, mini sets, and promotional sets. So, if you're new and on a budget, your best option is to rent cards to learn the game mechanics initially and eventually reach the necessary skill level to be competitive in events like tournaments. Let's take a look at this important process within the game.

En los primeros días de enero me había propuesto comenzar el año con una serie de guías para aquellos iniciados en Splinterlands como una forma sencilla de ir conociendo y explorando el juego. Comencé la 1era parte el 2 de enero y no quería dejar que terminara este mes sin compartirles la segunda parte de estas guías actualizadas para 2026. Y en esta ocasión vamos a ver como es el procedimiento para el alquiler de las cartas en el juego, y es que si ya estas jugando ranked modern o wild te darás cuenta que no todos los jugadores son dueños de todas las cartas, estamos hablando de 6 ediciones de cartas cada una de ellas con sus ediciones rewards, mini sets y ediciones promocionales, por lo que si eres nuevo y con un presupuesto limitado tu mejor opción es alquilar para ir dominando las mecánicas del juego inicialmente y posteriormente alcanzar la maestría necesaria que te permitirá ser competitivos en eventos como los torneos. Comencemos a ver entonces como es este importante proceso dentro del juego.
Okay, the first thing we need to do is go to the top left tab that says "Market," and once there, we'll go to "Rent Cards." There you'll see the main cards you can rent, but before looking at the cards and their prices, the first thing to pay attention to is the left panel, which is simply the filter we'll use to quickly access the cards we're interested in. There you can filter your cards by format (modern/wild), ability, lineage, set, foil type (regular, gold, black, and their arcane forms), unit type (archon or monsters), rarity, element, and attack type.
Bien, lo primero que tenemos que hacer es ir a la pestaña superior izquierda que dice market y una vez alli entramos a rentar cartas. Allí te aparecerán las principales cartas que podrás alquilar, pero antes de ver las cartas y sus precios, lo primero a lo que debemos ponerle atención es al panel izquierdo, que no es más que el filtro que usaremos para acceder más rápidamente a las cartas que nos interesan. Alli podrás filtrar tus cartas de interés por formato( modern/wild), habilidad, linaje, edición, tipo de lámina (regular, dorada, negra y sus formas arcanas), el tipo de unidad (arconte o monstruos), rareza, elemento y tipo de ataque.

Here's an example: The Untamed set is, in my opinion, one of the most fun and solid card collections Splinterlands has ever created. That's why I regularly rent its archons; my favorite is Mimosa Nightshade because of the magic resistance it grants. Since I play in the gold league and above, I usually rent it at level 3. In the market it appears at a price of a little over 5 Decs/day, but you must take into account that rentals are paid for seasons that last 2 weeks, so you would have to multiply those 5 Decs x 15 days for a total of 75 Decs.
Aquí te muestro un ejemplo, La edición Untamed es para mi una de las colecciones de cartas más divertidas y sólidas que ha creado Splinterlands. Por eso suelo alquilar con regularidad sus arcontes, mi favorito es Mimosa Nightshade por la resistencia a la magia ue confiere. Como juego en la liga de oro y superiores, la suelo alquilar en nivel 3, en el mercado aparece a un precio de poco más de 5 Decs/día pero aquí debes tener en cuenta que los alquileres se pagan por temporada que duran 2 semanas así que tendrías que multiplicar esos 5 Decs x 15 días para un total de 75 Decs.
Now, if you have one or more cards you don't need, you can put them on the rental market to generate passive income from your own cards. For example, I'm renting out a Life Archon. Since it's level 1, the minimum rental price is 1 Dec. If we're lucky and someone is interested, we'll receive 15 Decs for renting this card for the entire season it's available.
Ahora bien, si tienes una o más cartas que te sobren, puedes ponerlas en el mercado de rentas para generar ingresos pasivos con aquellas cartas de tu propiedad. Aquí por ejemplo estoy poniendo en alquiler un arconte de la clase vida, por estar en lvl 1 el precio mínimo al que lo puedo dejar alquilando es 1 Dec, si tenemos suerte y alguien se interesa, recibiremos 15 decs por el alquiler de esta carta durante toda temporada que permanecerá alquilada.
The biggest drawback of this system is when you're renting out a large number of cards. Between monsters and Archons, it becomes quite tedious having to search for each card individually and sign the keychain to rent them out. That's why, if you're new, there's an option in the market section to rent a complete set of cards. Unfortunately, for now, most of the available cards are for Chaos Legion, meaning the wild format, but let's see how it works.
El mayor inconveniente de este sistema es cuando vas alquilar una buena cantidad de cartas, entre monstruos y arcontes se hace bastante pesado tener que buscar una a una cada carta y firmar en el keychain para rentarlas. por eso si eres nuevo existe en el apartado de market la posibilidad de rentar un set completo de cartas. Lamentablemente por ahora las cartas disponibles en su mayoría son Chaos Legion, es decir para el formato wild, pero veamos como funciona.
Upon entering, you'll see listings of different card sets, including Archons and monsters, that you can rent with just a couple of clicks. You'll be able to see which cards are available and their levels, but keep in mind that each set has a base price. For example, the set I chose costs 375 Decs per day, so renting it for a whole season would cost 5625 Decs.
Al ingresar podremos ver listados distintos conjuntos de cartas entre arcontes y monstruos que podremos alquilar con solo un par de clicks. Podrás ver cuales son esas cartas y en que nivel están, pero debes tener en cuenta que el set tiene un precio base, por ejemplo este set que escogí cuesta 375 Decs/día por lo que tenerlo toda una temporada costaría 5625 Decs.
Clearly, renting a set is quite limited since only one edition is available. But there's a better alternative, and it's the one I use if you want to rent a large number of cards and save a lot of time: the Peakmonsters website. This is my preferred place for card rentals. If you look closely, the cards for rent are listed horizontally with drop-down tabs, and you simply add the cards you want to rent to your cart. When you finally see the total price, it's calculated based on a 15-day rental period, and just like in the game, you can pay with credits or Dec.
Claramente retar set se queda muy limitado dado que solo se dispone de 1 edición. Pero existe una mejor alternativa y es la que utilizo si quieres alquilar gran cantidad de cartas y ahorrarte mucho tiempo, me refiero al portal de Peakmonsters. Este es mi lugar de preferencia para el alquiler de cartas, si te fijas las cartas a rentar aparecen listados horizontalmente con pestañas desplegables y simplemente ingresas al carrito las ordenes de cartas que vas alquilar. Cuando finalmente vez el precio total, lo hace considerando que vas alquilar por los 15 días de temporada y al igual que en el juego puedes cancelar con créditos o Dec.
That concludes how card rentals work. Essentially, I rent cards for Brawl tournaments since I mostly play Modern; Wild becomes very expensive considering the infamous season pass. But there's another element to consider: you can use the rented cards on Lands plots to produce resources, research, or SPS. I'll leave that for another post dedicated to the uses and functions of Lands.
Con esto cerramos el como se procede al alquiler de cartas, en esencia yo alquilo para los torneos Brawls ya que la mayor parte del tiempo juego en moderno, wild se vuelve muy costoso considerando el infame pase de temporada. Pero además hay otro elemento a considerar y es que las cartas que alquiles puedes usarlas para las parcelas de Lands y producir recursos, investigación o sps. Pero dejaré este apartado para otro post dedicado a los usos y funciones de Lands.
SPS Rentals/Alquiler de Sps
If you're already playing ranked in either of its two formats, Modern or Wild, you'll have noticed that with each victory you receive two types of tokens: the staked SPS governance token and the Glint token, which allows you to buy items in the shop. The number of tokens you receive depends on several factors, such as league type, use of promo and GF/BF cards, win streak, and clan membership, but the amount of SPS locked largely determines these battle rewards.
Si ya estas jugando en ranking bajo cualquiera de sus 2 formatos: modern/wild con cada victoria habrás visto que recibes 2 tipos de tokens: el token de gobernanza sps en stake y el token glints que nos permite comprar objetos en la tienda. La cantidad de tokens que recibimos depende de diferentes factores, tipo de liga, uso de cartas promo y GF/BF, racha de victorias y pertenencia a un clan, pero lo que dicta en buen porcentaje estas recompensas de batalla es la cantidad de sps bloqueados.

In my case, with 29,000 SPS locked, I can get good rewards in the Bronze and Silver leagues, but in Wild, where I usually reach Diamond I, I need to have more than 300,000 SPS staked. To gain more power from these locked tokens, we use the option to rent SPS to get more rewards for victories. We go to the Rent tab and can create an order to rent SPS. Please note that these SPSs are rented for a minimum period of 7 days; you can cancel it in Dec or credits.
En mi caso que tengo 29K de sps bloqueados puedo obtener buenas recompensas en las ligas de bronce y plata, pero en wild que suelo llegar a Diamante I necesito tener en staking más de 300K de Sps. Para lograr un poder de estos tokens bloqueados, usamos la opción de alquilar Sps para conseguir más recompensas por victorias, nos vamos a la pestaña rentar y podemos crear una orden para alquilar sps. Se debe tener en cuenta que estos sps se alquilan por un periodo mínimo de 7 días, puedes cancelarlo en Dec o en créditos.

You can also view SP offers created on Peakmonsters. I usually check this portal to see Dec's current offer for each SP and place attractive orders to rent them as soon as possible. However, as you can see, it's a significant investment, so it's important to take stock of your investment and your expected profit before each season. This means you'll need to play dedicatedly in ranked matches and Brawls to maximize your investment in these rentals.
También puedes ver las ofertas de Sps creadas en Peakmonsters, normalmente me fijo en este portal para ver en cuanto esta la oferta de Dec por cada Sps y colocar ordenes atractivas para alquilar lo más pronto posible. Pero como puedes ver es una inversión importante, así que es importante, antes de cada temporada hacer un balance general de la inversión que harás y cuanto piensas obtener de beneficio, lo que implica tener que jugar dedicadamente en ranked y Brawls para aprovechar al máximo la inversión en estos alquileres.
Alright, folks, this was my second update on the main game options. Card rentals are a fundamental part of the game, serving as an alternative mechanism to strengthen your deck without having to make as large an investment as buying a card. They also provide a source of passive income by renting out your own cards. Renting Sps is an option I recommend once you've mastered the game and all its battle rules and abilities, as it's frustrating to lose a lot of energy because you haven't mastered every aspect of the game. El alquiler de cartas es una parte fundamental del juego en el sentido de un mecanismo alternativo para fortalecer tu mazo sin tener que hacer una inversión tan fuerte como comprar una carta y también una vía de ingreso pasivo a través de colocar las cartas de tu propiedad en alquiler.
