Soooooooooooooooooooooo, after looking at the Escalation details, I've started the SPS Unstaking process to see if I can buy some packs.
I reserve the right to change my mind at any time, but given the state of the crypto market and US politics, it's hard to see a bright future for this space, so I might as well swap my SPS for some fun new cards.
To get a max set of Escalation cards I think 1334 packs will be needed:
12 Common cards x 400 BCX each = 4800 + 12 Rare cards x 115 BCX each = 1380 + 8 Epic cards x 46 BCX each = 368 + 11 Legendary cards x 11 BCX each = 121... which gives us 6669 total BCX needed... and standard packs have 5 BCX each, so 1333.8 packs are needed.
1334 standard packs is 6,670,000 Credits ($6670) or 6,670,000 DEC ($4052.69) or 466,900 SPS ($3739.40). This would be about a third of my staked SPS - so yeah, will SPS be valuable in the future or is crypto just going to be a mess as this US Admin devalues it with insider trading and grifts, etc.
Obviously I know that cards devalue way quicker than SPS... but they're obviously more fun than boring old SPS, so that's where my head is at. At least with Unstaking... I can cancel the unstaking and restake it all if I change my mind.
So, what else, what else, what else.... I'm very excited to inform you that I won a Gold Arcane Reward card in the Weekly Fortune Draw!
It's my first and only Gold Arcane card! It's worth about $30, but I think I'll hold onto it for the extra Glint and SPS it provides when I win with it.
I managed to get the Cavewise Wayfinder's melee attack to nearly 30, so that was very exciting...
I had 8 guaranteed cards for Elowen Sylphie and managed to get a Gold Foil out of it...
Last season I had enough resources to repair 2 or 3 Wagon Kits... and so by the end of the conflict, I could still only repair 3.... but luckily I managed to sell the Gold Foil Epic Reward card I got in my last Epic Draw, and that almost exactly covered the DEC I needed to repair those last 5 Wagon Kits.
I'm all set for Hanv and it looks like I'll get 8 guaranteed cards... but I can currently afford to repair 0 wagon kits:
You can see that I've still got way too much Aura, but it looks like a new Aura Sink Sparkle Potions might entice the whales to win more foil cards during Escalation conflicts.
I ended up removing my 9 Capacity Flux from the market entirely... the supply is just way too high
Legendary Unbinding scrolls seemed to have kept their price pretty stable, which is weird because I would have thought less people would be interested in buying Legendary cards over time...
Demand for Midnight Potions has exploded in the last week or so...
... which is not surprising given they can be used on Escalation packs (actually, on a re-read, I'm not actually sure if that's true). If they can be used, I could use my own extra Aura on them. I think I only created enough Midnight Potions to use on my Legendary packs for Conclave Arcana.
So, I'm going to need 4 Elowen Sylphie cards to be able to max that Achron, but I only need 2 Captain Frankie Archon cards to max that one... and it looks like the price has now come down ever so slightly, so I'm going to use some of my liquid SPS...
Two cards will cost 38,713.93 DEC. I've got a couple of options... I can convert directly in the game...
... or swap using TribalDex:
Obviously it's way cheaper to swap, so I'll do that.
It legitimately blows me away how well integrated Splinterlands and TribalDex/HiveEngine are. It shouldn't be a surprise, but it's genuinely so easy to move resources around...
Now I've got a maxed Archon:
One thing I wasn't sure about, is if there would be any dramas in upgrading the card consider 9 BCX were already on a mage wagon for conflicts, but it looks like it just merged them no worries.
Even while it was technically in cooldown from adding the Elowen Sylphie cards in.

Okay, so my performance was terrible this season...
I tried real hard, but just could not maintain a spot in the Top 10. I am shocked I eventually ended up in the 102 spot... considering I was Number 1 with 7 days to go...

I'm sitting at 1.4M Glint rewards...
I had 888,893 Glint after my purchases last season, and have 1,476,263 now, so I earnt 587,370 Glint this season, which is only 2 or 3 wins different from last season in Modern, but pretty significantly different from the 654,369 I got when I hit 11 on the Wild leaderboard.
Anyway, let's get to buying!

I've got 10 out of 12 cards to Level 3, with a couple just being a single card away from max.... and weirdly just that single BCX of Sira. It has more cards in circulation than Sten Slatehelm - a card I've currently got 10 of. Just weird RNG things I guess.
Next is 25 Epic Draws for 375,000 Glint (no potions):
No gold foil cards. Here is my collection:
1 upgraded to Level 4 and 2 to Level 5 (of 6).
This leaves me with 406,826 Glint left... which I'm going to save so that I can afford the 10 Legendary Batch 1 Draws next season.

Lots of very interesting things happening in the game. I'm really happy that more Aura sinks are being introduced. I'm excited about buildings coming to Land. I hope they implement the ability to get double Glint instead of SPS and Glint per win. I'd love that.
I'm so curious to see how Escalation goes... they've put more incentives to get into the Top 10 Leaderboard of purchasers than has ever existed... so I hope it goes well for them... especially while crypto is not doing well at the moment.
