La sonrisa que me devuelve el color [ENG/ESP]

Es la primera vez que escribo en esta comunidad, y me enteré de su existencia gracias a un amigo que tiene la cuenta de @feather.art. Él me dijo que aquí se escribe desde el alma, y eso me hizo pensar. Bien nno soy mucho de compartir, de hecho me considero un poco gris… Y aunque suene contradictorio, también me siento como un lobo solitario, aunque los lobos sean de manada. Supongo que hay cosas que no tienen que tener lógica para sentirse reales.

Please accept my warmest greetings and best wishes for the new year. This is my first time writing in this community, which I learned about thanks to a friend who has the account @feather.art. He told me that people here write from the soul, and that got me thinking. Well, I'm not much of a sharer; in fact, I consider myself a bit gray... And although it sounds contradictory, I also feel like a lone wolf, even though wolves are pack animals. I guess there are things that don't have to make sense to feel real.

Leí el post de @charjaim y me tocó. Me hizo pensar en qué cosas son importantes para mí, y después de mirar hacia arriba un buen rato, entre tantas cosas que vineron a mi mente, fueron dos sonrisas que se ganan el premio nobel de la paz en mi alma. Las de mi esposa y mi hija. No hay nada mas que me derrita el corazón que saber que ellas están bien, que están contentas. Que estan seguras. La sonrisa es reflejo de su estado emocional, y me gusta verlas sonreír. Son mis dos personas favoritas en todo mi mundo.

I read @charjaim's post and it touched me. It made me think about what things are important to me, and after looking up for a while, among the many things that came to mind, there were two smiles that win the Nobel Peace Prize in my soul. Those of my wife and daughter. Nothing melts my heart more than knowing that they are well, that they are happy. That they are safe. Their smiles reflect their emotional state, and I love to see them smile. They are my two favorite people in the whole world.

Mi esposa es todo lo contrario a mí. A ella sí le gusta salir, pasear, armar planes. El viernes pasado me dijo: “Papi, vamos a pasear”. Y yo, como siempre, le respondí: “¿Para dónde? Yo no quiero”. Se puso triste. Y como ya les dije, no me gusta que estén tristes. Así que cambié mi respuesta y acepté salir. Se alegró y de inmediato, armó la salida con su hermana y su prima para el domingo en la tarde (siempre se sale con la suya). Recorrimos unos 18 km o más, fuimos a varias lagunas que hay en este hermoso pueblo. No les voy a negar que disfruté el paisaje, la vista, porque me encanta el frío. Lo disfruto mucho (creo que eso entra tambien en la esencia de las cosas simples).

My wife is the complete opposite of me. She likes to go out, take walks, make plans. Last Friday she said to me, “Daddy, let's go for a walk.” And I, as always, replied, “Where to? I don't want to.” She got sad. And as I already told you, I don't like it when they're sad. So I changed my answer and agreed to go out. She was happy and immediately made plans with her sister and cousin for Sunday afternoon (she always gets her way). We traveled about 18 km or more, visiting several lakes in this beautiful town. I won't deny that I enjoyed the scenery and the view, because I love the cold. I enjoy it very much (I think that's also part of the essence of simple things).

Estaba haciendo tanto frío que me congestioné rápido y no podía respirar por la nariz. De echo en la última laguna que visitamos, no se veía nada por la neblina tan densa que había. Todo este relato es para decir lo siguiente: sé que hay muchas cosas que me gustan, que me hacen sentir bien, que me hacen disfrutar la simplesa de las cosas, pero para mí hay una esencia tan simple pero tan cargada de sentimiento y de emosiones, y eso está en una sonrisa de mi esposa o de mi hija. Ahí está todo mi ser, mi trabajo, mi esencia.

It was so cold that I quickly became congested and couldn't breathe through my nose. In fact, at the last lake we visited, we couldn't see anything because of the dense fog. The point of this whole story is to say the following: I know there are many things I like, that make me feel good, that make me enjoy the simplicity of things, but for me there is an essence that is so simple yet so full of feeling and emotion, and that is in the smile of my wife or my daughter. That is where my whole being, my work, my essence lies.
