We love our grandmas in the city, and one particular grandma stands above the rest in the forests of Capilano park. Grandma Capilano is the nickname given to an old Douglas fir tree. As the sign reads, "at over 800 years old, her inner rings predate Genghis Khan" and she keeps on ticking by adding more rings to her illustrious body. Astounding and beautiful!
