Beware of Phishing My experience with a fake "Hive Loyalty Rewards" message

Hi everyone, I wanted to share a recent experience I had on Ecency to help others stay safe. Today, I received a private message from an account called @hive.giveaway claiming that a "Hive Loyalty Rewards Program" is officially live. The message looks very professional and promises an "incredible 40% bonus reward" just for holding and staking Hive tokens. It even includes a link to "claim" these rewards. However, after asking the community on InLeo, I received a quick confirmation from @askrafiki that this is a SCAM. There is no such official program, and Hive rewards only come from posting, voting, and legitimate staking—not from random links in your DMs. Why this is dangerous: It uses a fake sense of celebration to lower your guard. It offers unrealistic returns (40% bonus) to tempt users. The link provided is likely a phishing site designed to steal your private keys. I’m posting this to warn all my fellow Hiveans, especially the newer ones: Do not click that link! Always double-check with the community before interacting with "giveaway" messages.

    Stay safe out there.

I appreciate the shout out on this. My first experience of crypto i totally go rinsed by a scam because I was so naive and yeah they snagged me with that "Greed" emotion. I've learnt to be wiser since then but i still see a lot of people who were once like me falling for this low life crap and that looks like the typical telescam link.
