Some things in your morning routine make a big difference in getting your day off to a good start. Like coffee! βοΈ Can I get an Amen?
Sadly, my closest proper Italian coffee spot simply stopped opening. No sign. No update. No explanation. There's another shop nearby and it's been my fave, but now they've put out signs that say, "If you're here with your laptop, please sit on the stools at the counter." Ugh! Those stools have no cushion, no back, and are orientated so that to sit there, my back would be to the door.
May I tell you a little something about growing up in Texas? We don't sit with our backs to the door!
So what was my favorite coffee place is not feeling great to me at the minute and the closest one is shut. π
But look! π I missed it at first, but the green paint is new! And today I saw signage the indicates proper Italian coffee is on the way. In fact, I have been to the coffee house by this name, CaffΓ© Briggante, 17 Hunslet Road, Leeds, probably a couple of months ago. In fact, I posted from there.
I don't know if this brings a second location into the city or if it is a move to this new location, but they look committed. I saw brand new equipment moved in, so clearly they have no intention of using what was left from the other owners.
Do you know what else is exciting about this development? Look at the sign above. It says, Gelateria Artigianale, which means "made on site gelatoβ.
G E L A T O ! π
Encouraged, but in serious need of caffeine, I had to sort myself out with a proper coffee. I walked over to the Corn Exchange where there is a reliable place called Bruschetta that pours beautiful coffees and carries delectable croissant sandwiches. But not today. All sandwiches were sold out. For breakfast lunch I had a bag of crisps and a slice of cake. The coffee almost made up for it.
As you can see in the photo above, there was a Vinyl Record event going on at the lower level. I wish I had time to peruse, but CWH awaits, so I needed to head home for hosting our daily live co-working events for Hive.
Near the flat, I decided to pop into The Palace for ten minutes. Quickly they had a burger ready for me! It came crowned (get it...look in the window) with BBQ shredded pork and topped with two perfectly fried onion rings. All was right with the world. Now I really had to get the move on and get logged in for CWH.
Oh, it's Bob!! On Sunday's during the day, the men who work security & concierge aren't on site until later, so I got to see our little man π Bob sound asleep in the corner of the office. Seeing this sweet one as I arrived made for a really great welcome home.
It's been a long day, so to bed, but not without signing off with a Power Up for 200 HIVE for Power Up Day and 1 HIVE for 1 February.
Much love! π₯° Alessandra
