A Simple Poem About Class

The bell rings Everyone rushed inside Chairs scrape the floor bags drop the room smells like paper and dust

I sit down and open my notebook to a clean page The teacher starts talking right away

I try to listen but my eyes drift A bird lands on the window it chirped

The clock moved slow My hand writes my name again and again

Finally, it's time to eat. We stand up fast almost too fast

The room fills with noise laughing shouting running feet

The sun feelt brighter Everything looked newer even if it’s the same sun again and again

Back to our seats Recess is done The lesson goes on and on

Somewhere in the room someone sighs Little things I noticed to get by.

At last, the final bell

Chairs moved again bags are lifted

The classroom empties I left my chair and felt lighter The classes ended faster.

I got inspired after accidentally stumbling on @lymepoet In the Silence of the Night. I don't know how that happened but it happened. My first try is much simpler compared to hers though.

Here's the link to her post that I read https://peakd.com/hive-161155/@lymepoet/in-the-silence-of-the-night
