Insgesamt eine richtige Seuchensaison mit extrem vielen Verletzten, dazu kam das Theater mit L. Hughes wegen seinem neuen Vertrag zu Saisonbeginn, dann das Problem mit den NMC Verträgen von Palat und Hamilton, die den Q. Hughes Deal blockierten und dann noch die frühzeitige, sehr teure Vertragsverlängerung von Goalie Markström der heuer eigentlich der schlechteste 1er Goalie der Liga ist. Dazu kommt noch dass die Neuzugänge Dadonov und Lammikko Totalausfälle sind und Glendening auch nicht der erhoffte 4th line center.
Es gibt zwar auch ein paar positive Beispiele wie Gritsyuk, Glass und Nemec, aber unterm Strich reicht das einfach derzeit nicht für die Playoffs, vor der Saison hätte ich das nicht für möglich gehalten mit dieser Mannschaft.
Viele der Probleme sind hausgemacht, daher steht GM Fitzgerald da schon ordentlich unter Beschuss von der Fanbase und den Medien, wohl nicht zu unrecht wenn man sich die vielen Baustellen und den ausbleibenden Erfolg ansieht.
