    Bread like a braid

Something I can't resist is dough! I would somehow avoid sweets, but bread, rolls, pies... no chance! When I take them out of the oven, hot and fragrant, a smile immediately spreads across my face! And this braid kept my heart warm all afternoon. It's easy to make, and it grows so nicely and turns brown that it's simply irresistible. My wife always makes this type of bread when it's a holiday, and it's a must for Easter. Today I wanted exactly this kind of bread, and the two of us kneaded these two loaves together in the shape of a braid. 615592598_33588504217461758_382832426762327132_n (1).jpg I will describe to you how we prepare it in my country according to our traditional recipe. Ingredients: 550 g soft flour 2 teaspoons salt 10 g dry yeast 200 ml milk 2 tablespoons sugar 100 ml water 60 g melted margarine 1 egg Add seeds as desired. I added flax, sunflower and sesame. Preparation: Mix the dry yeast with 200 ml of warm milk and a spoonful of sugar and let it foam for about 5 minutes and pour it into a bowl with flour. Separately combine water, salt, another spoonful of sugar, egg and melted margarine and mix with flour and yeast. Knead the dough and knead it for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes silky to the touch, then leave it for about an hour in a warm place, covered with transparent foil and a cloth. Sprinkle a little flour on the work surface and take the dough out of the bowl, knead it slightly and divide it into 6 balls. 615590615_33588502827461897_660859857909547707_n.jpg 615371418_33588503510795162_2336707805818580522_n.jpg Roll out each ball into a rectangle with a rolling pin, roll it into a roll, and then roll out each roll with your hands to the thickness of 1-2 fingers. Connect all the "rollers" from the upper side and weave a braid by interlacing the middle and outer parts alternately. It doesn't even matter which one you braid first, just that they intertwine with each other. 615476944_33588503170795196_4131879417780972985_n.jpg 616006262_33588503534128493_2245618465717384722_n.jpg 616562027_33588503920795121_7252861937598427558_n.jpg 615479585_33588504834128363_8719078543224881792_n.jpg Place the braid on a baking sheet that you have previously covered with baking paper, then brush it with beaten egg yolk and a spoonful of milk and cover it with cling film. Leave it to rise for about an hour and then brush it again. Bake for about 20 minutes at a temperature of 220 degrees.

It looks like quite a rich dough and only takes 2 hours in total to proof, doesn't take long to make at all.

Yes, it's quick to make. I saw your post about whole wheat bread. Now I understand where I went wrong. My bread doesn't rise. I follow your recipe because you made it perfectly.
