Dreaming of becoming big and better in life is something everyone in this world has in common, and that is one of the things that keeps us living, because we want to achieve those dreams. For a lot of people, including me, the summary of a dream is simply to succeed in life in general. This success entails having enough money to build a house, get married, raise children, and also give back to society. However, even though this is the general idea of a dream, it usually comes in bits, just like the goals we set for ourselves come in bits as well. For students, although their ultimate dream is to become all-round successful in life, their immediate dream is to graduate from school with flying colours.
Right now, for me, my dream is to get a good-paying job that will settle all my financial worries, which is one of the biggest problems faced by a good number of people on earth. This dream has been facing a lot of issues, which have made it look like it might not be fulfilled anytime soon, but I am still very hopeful and trusting God to turn things around.
I have been seeking and applying for jobs, but no tangible opportunity has come my way in terms of getting employed. Most times, I go for interviews, but I do not get called back to resume work. I have decided to settle for a small job for now, to work and survive while I look forward to having a better one, which is my real dream.
This dream is also the dream of many people in Nigeria, and getting a well-paying job is very difficult. This situation has made a lot of people give up on their dreams after seeing how corrupt the country is, where the only means to get a good job seems to be passing through corrupt practices. Even at that, one still needs to know top or influential people before success can be achieved.
