Decidí buscar una alternativa porque mis controles originales de Xbox Series S ya pasaron a mejor vida (en lo que me decido mandarlos a arreglar). A uno le dio el famoso drift en los sticks y al otro se le empezaron a atorar los gatillos, algo frustrante cuando estás a mitad de una partida. Estuve leyendo varias reseñas en grupos de Facebook donde hablaban muy bien de esta marca, así que me animé a probarlo. Además, aproveché mi primera compra en la app de Temu y me salió muy barato, aproximadamente unos 20 dólares, así que me arriesgue.

I decided to look for an alternative because my original Xbox Series S controllers have already kicked the bucket (while I decide whether to send them in for repair). One got the infamous stick drift and the other’s triggers started sticking—super frustrating when you’re mid-match. I’d been reading several reviews in Facebook groups where people were raving about this brand, so I worked up the nerve to try it. Plus, I took advantage of my first purchase on the Temu app and got it for dirt cheap, about 20 dollars, so I took the gamble.
Lo que realmente me convenció de este modelo es que usa la tecnología llamada Efecto Hall en los sticks y gatillos. Básicamente, en lugar de piezas que se rozan y se desgastan con el tiempo (potenciómetro de los sticks originales de xbox), utiliza imanes. Esto significa que, en teoría, nunca debería sufrir de drift. Al probarlo, se siente una precisión muy diferente, muy fluida, puedes ajustar la zona muerta a cero y el control responde de inmediato. Es una solución muy buena para quienes ya no les sirven sus controles originales.
What really sold me on this model is that it uses Hall Effect technology in the sticks and triggers. Basically, instead of parts that rub and wear down over time (like the potentiometers in original Xbox sticks), it uses magnets. This means that, in theory, it should never suffer from drift. When you try it out, the precision feels totally different—very fluid. You can set the deadzone to zero, and the controller responds instantly. It’s a great solution for anyone whose original controllers are toast.
En cuanto al rendimiento, es un control que funciona por cable USB-C. Aunque para algunos esto sea una desventaja por la comodidad de lo inalámbrico, la ventaja es que la respuesta es mucho más rápida. Si juegas títulos como Call of Duty, esa pequeña diferencia si se nota.
As for performance, it’s a wired controller using a USB-C cable. While some might see this as a downside because of the convenience of wireless, the advantage is that the response time is much faster. If you play titles like Call of Duty, you can definitely feel that slight difference.
Físicamente, el diseño Volt Black es bastante sobrio, soy más fan de los colores blancos, pero en esta ocasión me decidí por un color oscuro. Un detalle que me gustó mucho y que no había visto en otros controles son los botones traseros. Creí que estos me iban a molestar porque se presionan fácilmente, sin embargo, cuentan con unos seguros pequeños que los bloquean para que no las presiones por accidente mientras juegas. También tiene una placa frontal magnética que puedes quitar fácilmente si te gusta la personalización. Los botones se sienten suaves, muy parecidos a los originales, lo que hizo que no me costara nada de trabajo adaptarme al cambio.
Physically, the Volt Black design is pretty sleek. I’m usually more of a fan of white, but this time I went with a dark color. One detail I really liked that I hadn't seen on other controllers is the back buttons. I thought they’d be annoying because they’re so easy to press, but they actually have small locks to disable them so you don't hit them by accident while playing. It also has a magnetic faceplate that you can pop off easily if you’re into customization. The buttons feel soft, very similar to the originals, which made it super easy for me to adapt to the change.
Por el precio que pagué, siento que es una compra muy inteligente. Es un control con licencia oficial que ofrece varias características interesantes por una fracción del costo de un control original. Apenas estoy empezando a ver de qué más es capaz y qué otros ajustes le puedo hacer, pero si están pasando por lo mismo que yo con el drift o los gatillos pegajosos de los controles de fábrica, este G7 SE parece ser una opción que cumple.
For the price I paid, I feel like it was a very smart buy. It’s an officially licensed controller that offers several cool features for a fraction of the cost of an original one. I’m just starting to see what else it can do and what other tweaks I can make, but if you’re dealing with the same issues I had with drift or sticky factory triggers, this G7 SE seems like an option that really delivers.
