Tal día como hoy, hace dos años iniciamos este camino juntos. Hoy estamos felices de celebrar de la mano de nuestra fiel comunidad el segundo aniversario de Geek Zone. Lo que un día nació para compartir nuestra pasión por las nuevas tecnologías, ha trascendido para consolidarse en la comunidad de referencia del contenido tech y gaming en Hive. Sin embargo, la cultura geek va mucho más allá, y ha llegado el momento de vivirla y expresarla con orgullo.
Ser geek es ser un apasionado de la tecnología y de todo el conocimiento que ella conlleva. Somos fanáticos empedernidos de las nuevas tendencias tecnológicas, de los nuevos lanzamientos. Amamos experimentar con cada nuevo dispositivo o gadget que sale al mercado. Somos consumidores de lo más novedoso. Pero también somos grandes aficionados de la fantasía, los cómics, la ciencia ficción, y por supuesto, de los videojuegos. De allí, nace otra gran afición, ser coleccionistas de objetos y figuras vinculadas a nuestras pasiones.
Ser un geek es tener un gusto especial por lo peculiar y alternativo, lo que para algunos puede parecer “raro”, para nosotros es la puerta de entrada a un mundo fantástico de descubrimiento, conocimiento y diversión.

Actualización de las reglas
Si algo debe reconocer un geek es la constante evolución de la era que vivimos. Cambios que se van adaptando a las nuevas realidades y que marcan tendencia en la forma que hacemos y consumimos contenidos. Es por ello que hemos decidido hacer un refrescamiento a las reglas y normas de la comunidad.
- Condenamos categóricamente el plagio o abuso, en cualquiera de sus formas. Entiéndase como plagio apropiarse indebidamente de un contenido para hacerlo pasar como suyo, esto no solo incluye copiar y pegar (clonación), sino también el parafraseo de la información e incluso el fraude al generar todo el contenido mediante inteligencia artificial.
- Evite el spam y reciclaje de contenido.
- Todas las publicaciones, incluso aquellas que contengan vídeo o vengan desde la frontend “Liketu”, deben tener al menos 200 PALABRAS de contenido escrito en un mismo idioma.
- Para el contenido audiovisual recomendamos que utilicen la plataforma de 3speak; sin embargo, no es limitativo. Recuerde siempre apegarse a lo planteado en el punto anterior.
- No admitimos el Cross Post en primera instancia, salvo que su publicación haya sido compartida directamente en su blog. Si usted ya ha publicado en alguna otra comunidad de Hive, no haga Cross Post a Geek Zone.
- Usted puede compartir sus publicaciones, según su preferencia, en español y/o inglés.
- Nada de cryptojuegos. No tenemos algo en contra de ellos, solo queremos que el contenido de videojuegos esté centrado en aquellos que no tienen una economía cripto. (Para ese tipo de juegos, hay otras comunidades).
En cuanto a tópicos o nichos:
- Unboxing y reviews de cualquier dispositivo y/o gadget tecnológico.
- Montaje, reparación, mantenimiento y/o configuración de equipos (ordenadores, redes, telecomunicaciones, videojuegos, etc.).
- Experiencias personales en el ámbito de la tecnología.
- Visitas a tiendas o ferias de tecnología.
- Noticias, tendencias y actualidad tecnológica.
- Contenido gaming en general.
- Incluimos el contenido Geek en general, desde juegos de mesa, figuras de acción. Todo lo que aplique a la pasión friki.
Tenemos Badge

Dear Geeks, On a day like today, two years ago we started this journey together. Today we are happy to celebrate with our loyal community the second anniversary of Geek Zone. What one day was born to share our passion for new technologies, has transcended to become the reference community for tech and gaming content in Hive. However, geek culture goes much further, and the time has come to live it and express it with pride.
To be a geek is to be passionate about technology and all the knowledge that comes with it. We are inveterate fans of new technological trends, of new releases. We love to experiment with every new device or gadget that comes out in the market. We are consumers of the latest gadgets. But we are also big fans of fantasy, comics, science fiction, and of course, video games. From there, another great hobby is born, being collectors of objects and figures related to our passions.
Being a geek is to have a special taste for the peculiar and alternative, what for some may seem "weird", for us is the gateway to a fantastic world of discovery, knowledge and fun.

Rules update
If there is something a geek must recognize is the constant evolution of the era we live in. Changes that adapt to new realities and set trends in the way we make and consume content. That is why we have decided to refresh the rules and norms of the community.
- We categorically condemn plagiarism or abuse, in any form. Plagiarism is understood as misappropriating content to pass it off as your own, this includes not only copy and paste (cloning), but also the paraphrasing of information and even fraud by generating all the content through artificial intelligence.
- Avoid spamming and recycling content.
- All publications, even those containing video or coming from the front end "Liketu", must have at least 200 WORDS of written content in the same language.
- For audiovisual content we recommend that you use the 3speak platform; however, this is not limiting. Remember to always adhere to what is stated in the previous point.
- We do not accept Cross Post in the first instance, unless your publication has been shared directly on your blog. If you have already posted on any other Hive community, do not Cross Post to Geek Zone.
- You can share your posts, according to your preference, in English and/or Spanish.
- No cryptogames. We don't have anything against them, we just want the video game content to be focused on those who don't have a crypto economy (For that kind of games, there are other communities).
In terms of topics or niches:
- Unboxing and reviews of any technological device and/or gadget.
- Assembly, repair, maintenance and/or configuration of equipment (computers, networks, telecommunications, video games, etc.).
- Personal experiences in the field of technology.
- Visits to technology stores or fairs.
- News, trends and technology news.
- Gaming content in general.
- We include Geek content in general, from board games to action figures. Everything that applies to nerd passion.
We have Badge
From now on, from the account @badge-106817, we will be giving the medal (following) to members who are active in the community. We are excited to have one and we are grateful to each of you for preferring us and making Geek Zone that favorite space to share Geek content.
To ensure that all our members are aware of these updates, we will assign a role within the community with the label: Verified Geek. To qualify for this distinction let us know in the comments of this post that you have read and understood what is stated here. Please note that members with the Geek Verified role will be prioritized in the content curation process and in turn, will receive a new community badge.
