Something that really shook up the gaming world was the arrival of Gears of War on PlayStation—a franchise that was the face of Xbox exclusivity for years. We all had the same question: Is the console war finally over? It certainly seems that way, especially since Gears isn't the only heavy hitter making the jump; the acclaimed Halo is reportedly following suit.

For me, Gears of War Reloaded feels more like a remake than a simple remaster. It introduces a series of gameplay tweaks specifically designed to take full advantage of the DualSense controller. The game is built on the foundation of the Gears of War Ultimate Edition, featuring both the campaign and multiplayer. However, you do need a PlayStation Plus subscription for the online side, which feels like a bit of a hurdle for some.
Gears of War Reloded es un Remake para mí, más que una remasterización, ya que incluye una serie de mejoras en cuanto a jugabilidad para que el Dualsense, el mando de Playstation, sea aprovechado al máximo. Este juego toma como base el Gears of War Ultimate Edition que tiene la campaña y el multijugador, el cual necesita de Playstation plus para poder jugarlo, cosa que lo limita mucho.
The original game this is based on dates back to 2006. For those not familiar with the lore, the story follows an alien invasion that nearly wipes out humanity. The day it all started is known as Emergence Day (E-Day). The plot kicks off 14 years after that event, following a squad of soldiers doing whatever it takes to stop the enemy's advance.

Para quienes no están familiarizados con esta franquicia, la historia del juego se basa en la invasión de aliens que provoca la caída de la humanidad casi en su totalidad. El día de la invasión se conoce como el Día de la Emergencia (E-Day). Despite the technical bells and whistles—like native 4K, 60 FPS in campaign, and 120 FPS in multiplayer, plus 3D audio and lightning-fast load times—the game still has that "old school" soul. It’s a pure third-person action title where shooting is the name of the game. No convoluted puzzles here; it’s all about your aim and your will to survive.
A pesar de las mejoras técnicas, como estar en formato 4K nativo, 60 FPS en el modo campaña y 120 FPS en el multijugador, con audio espacial mejorado y tiempos de carga relativamente cortos, el juego se sigue sintiendo como de la vieja escuela. Es ese juego de acción en tercera persona, donde disparar es lo más importante, aquí no hay puzzles complicados, todo lo que vale es tu puntería y capacidad de no morir.
I have two main reasons for jumping into Gears of War Reloaded. First, there’s the nostalgia for a game I never got to play back in the day because I was a PlayStation kid instead of an Xbox owner. Second, and most importantly, is the split-screen co-op. Having just picked up a second DualSense, I can finally play through the campaign with my son. Letting him experience what I missed out on and showing him the magic of local multiplayer is going to be an incredible experience
Tengo dos razones para comenzar a jugar Gears of War Reloded. Primero, la nostalgia de que nunca pude jugarlo en su momento, por tener Playstation y no Xbox. La otra, la posibilidad de jugar la campaña en pantalla dividida con otra persona, y tras la nueva adquisición de un mando Dualsense adicional, poder jugar con mi hijo y que el viva lo que yo en el pasado, que conozca el multijugador más allá del online, será una gran experiencia.
