It was quite a nice, sunny day for a change, as I walked down to one of the village lakes to feed the birds. I leave bird seed on a couple of pillars that are at the beginning of a lane next to the lake. On a good day, I meet all kinds of people here, including bird watchers, photographers, joggers, dog walkers, cyclists and horse riders. Most people will stop here and have a chat to whoever is there.

Not many birds flew down for the bird seed, apart from a robin and a nuthatch. Sadly, the nuthatch is far too quick to get many photos. The robin is a lot easier to photograph. I'm sure they like the limelight.

The mallard duck and coot were sharing a log in the lake to stand and preen on. At one point, the mallard tried to push the coot in the water but the coot managed to stand its ground ... or log.

The gulls like to perch on the metal fence around the lake. There was another photographer out.
This is my Entry to the Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo (SMaP) Round 255 - Free Theme.

Sometimes, the gulls on the fence would get disturbed and they'd take flight until they were happy enough to return to the fence.
Thank you to @nelinoeva and the #featheredfriends team for running the contest.
